To be fair, I'm mostly railing against the push to social networking platforms than the smartphone market. Social games aren't games, they're viruses wrapped in a Skinner Box and given a shiny coat of paint designed to distract you from the fact that all you're doing is clicking on random shit, buying worthless virtual currency, and spamming the shit out of your friends' timelines.
iOS/Droid games can be fine (I have FFIII on my iPhone), but the big sellers there are almost exclusively casual fare on the level of Angry Birds or Cut The Rope.
Ideally, I'd like to see SE get back to its roots with the FF series and develop a game that's more like their SNES-era or PS1-era games than most of the shit they've put out in the last decade.
