Actually ffxivcore.com was the most negative site around, I got banned for liking ffxiv.
Which is one big reason why I dont trust things they say, I go there to see what they have to say not because I post there, Im not even registered for them nor do I want to.
but in anyrate, SE will bounce back they know what they have to do, and they know there position, I think everything will be fine ( Just being positive)
They didn't just ban me from posting. They banned me from even visiting the site. On every IP address I own. I can't view it on ..
My Phone
My Home Network.
My ENTIRE work network which is a nationwide WAN that encompasses about 100,000 IP addresses.
They really didn't want me coming back :P
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
This I'm pretty sure would be a curse thing rather than ffxivcore, as there's zero bans set up based on this criteria for that specific forum. They didn't just ban me from posting. They banned me from even visiting the site. On every IP address I own. I can't view it on ..

Its all IP Address ranges and I can still post on the Curse forums. Its the Core site i can't even see it comes up saying "You are not authorized to view this site."
If we own X.X.1-5.1-255 IP Address and I'm on X.X.1.15 and core bans X.X.0.0 It bans everyone in X.X.X.X I'm not sure what you guys put at the range for my ban but its horribly huge. and as I said my phone is blocked (1 Unique IP Address) so is my home network (2 Unique IP Address) and my Work Network (100,000 Unique Addresses, though I'll be honest I only checked 5 of our external addresses as thats all thats needed to verify the entire IP range is blocked.)

For those who didn't know 4.5 billion yen is roughly 55.6 million USD, so it is actually believable since Square takes in upwards of 1.5 billion USD as it's annual revenue.

Yeah, SE will bounce back and has hopefully learned their lesson. So was the whole New Crystals thing canned? The series of games that started with XIII?

We only ban people when they were causing problems, and it is generally treated as a last resort. However, fairly recently we have changed around the admin team, and I can personally say that I very rarely ban people unless it's necessary.I got banned from there for posting a link to a Community contest that any FFXIV fan could enter to win a copy of the Collectors Edition of the game.
Actually, That's impossible. There is no ban setup like this setup. I've only had to ban one person by IP address, and this was only because this person was very persistent on creating new account to continue to troll. They didn't just ban me from posting. They banned me from even visiting the site. On every IP address I own. I can't view it on ..
Anyway, I'm really not trying to stir anything but only to clarify.
I'll check this out, but I most certainly don't remember doing this. Its all IP Address ranges and I can still post on the Curse forums. Its the Core site i can't even see it comes up saying "You are not authorized to view this site."
