LOL overgeared players playing AK on easy mode trivializing it's content. I can tell you actually weren't overgeared you can't just skip the bees. YOu have to LB and dps one bee tank on the other. In the meantime, Stuns must interrupt bee aoe AND wall repel must be positioned right. Dps need decent gear, tank doesn't.

Saying WK is easy with i70 is like a level 50 doing a level 40 dungeon without levelsync and saying difficulty is fine.

Not true. I was new to AK as a lvl 50 MNK and worked with a random team. I was told to disregard the bees and DPS the wall. Our healer kited the bees to the edge of the purple crap in the back so we were out of range of the ale. We killed Demon wall, leaving the bees alone. To each his own I guess but I had no darklight gear and company weapon at the time.

As a PLD I had both dps fall off the bridge after the bee's were killed. The WHM and I finished killing the Wall while standing in the purple ooze at end of the bridge for 2 rounds of repel.

It's all about knowing where to be and when to be there.

Omg dude, we're we in the same fight? I was whm and it was only myself and tank. We ran out of room to a point where all the floor was purple but we still killed the wall.

I'm sure this situation has happened with other people, the WHM I was with at that time was from my FC, her name is Vega Corvi. If the Wall gets to the end then it really depends on how well the healer can keep you alive. It was a pretty epic fight, I mean, my first time fighting the wall I fell off on the first repel.

I'm kind of disappointed with the nerf to AK. Not the tomes, but the dungeon itself.

AK was already easy. The first time I ran it with AF gear plus the GC weapon (ilvl55, I think) and the other players I ran it with were very similar, with the healer having an Ifrit weapon and AF gear. While we ALMOST ran out of space, we didn't. A DPS check implies that if you don't have enough DPS, you won't succeed and must increase your DPS to try again. (Titan's heart phase, for example)

Also, me and the other DPS were BLM's. The fact that BLM lose a huge amount of DPS as soon as they have to move hurts this fight a lot, especially when the purple lines popped quicker than your Fire III cast time. Both of us were BLM, yet we still managed Demon Wall second try.

Apart from BLM cast times, AK isn't hard if you know the mechanics. First boss is trivial and barely requires knowledge of the fight except LoSing the big AoE. Demon Wall is only hard if people fall off, which is really easy to avoid and the last boss... well, I was told the last boss was hard yet I thought it was easier than the first boss as long as you know not to stand behind him. Even getting hit by the huge Purple AoE the first few times doesn't make a huge difference.

I doubt your ability to tell how geared a player is by visual inspection when you're a fresh 50. Someone with Ifirt weapon and AF gear is definitely possible but rare. Did you DF with your own party?

Visual inspection? Even with a Relic +1 and full DL I don't visually inspect anyone, I click on them and examine and look at the ilvl on all their gear as I've been doing since around level 20 when I found out you can examine... AF gear and AF+1 gear can look pretty similar, so I don't bother trying. Not to mention it's just nice to look at their non-visible gear.

I DF'd solo. At that point I had no FC, nor did I make any friends on my server as I planned on switching server eventually. The only piece of gear they had that I'd never seen before was a hoplite ring, which I soon found out I would receive the next day. Apart from that all the visible armor was ilvl50-55 and the rest of their accessories were all below 50 (either their earrings or necklace were in the 30's, but my memory isn't that good). They had a HQ belt but that was pretty low, too. Besides, this is the healer I'm talking about so their gear isn't that important in this dungeon.

ilvl 50-55 is quite a bit better than AF gear which is mostly i45, except for chest in pld case. not sure how other jobs differ from pld.

The level requirement for AF gear is 45-50, the ilvl is 50-55. Everything but the chest is 50, while the chest is 55.
