WE NEED TO get it out, Why? SE doesn't like their name tarnished and will do everything to fix it if they do. Perfect example: 1.0Funny thing is people still dont realize that exploit is the sole reason for last months said "RMT" ban.
The very reason they banned people who had large amounts of gil was because of the exploit done on several severs by several different groups.
The reason that they didn't attack legacy severs was simply because they couldn't pin point massive gil account, as lots of people already had large amounts.
Now the reason there keeping quite about it is because it has the possibility of massive bad press if it got out to news media and this is also the reason
SE has not responded to the characters affected by this ban. Not because your guilty but because it would hurt the game to admit this has taken place
and is still taking place.
It astounds me that they think they can cover it up. Though im not sure getting it out might be an epic ruin for the game. Its hard to say whats the best course of action from this point.
But removing gil from players and saying it was all done to fight "RMT"(which is only remotely true) also banning people for days on end is kinda silly when the real issue has yet to be touched. To be quite honest they should have taken the game down in phase 4, when the issue first game to light and fixed it.From project standpoint it would be less of a wound, because at present it is getting to the point where it is almost deadly.
They told us how they dealt with it. They also sent emails to everyone who got banned explaining the violations. Why does it need to be any more transparent than that? If SE just starts broadcasting what they're finding and how they're finding it, people are going to use that information to avoid getting caught. SE knows what they are doing. What cracks me up is that you have a mass of players with zero data thinking they know better.
i agree, They can't even add a chat filter lol..It astounds me that they think they can cover it up. Though im not sure getting it out might be an epic ruin for the game. Its hard to say whats the best course of action from this point.

Not to argue or anything. But truth be told that is the reason for the massive bans. Also the reasonThey told us how they dealt with it. account on legacy severs where not affected by this, and also the reason the games economy is in shambles.
But people have posted about this exploit before and in a few hours im sure even this post will be nuked.
No, it doesn't. Some sites just list off the characters banned once they are permanently banned, and you'll see it's almost entirely button mash/default names that were RMT spam or other botting activity.
As for Real names and such. No don't be stupid. Real Name policies just result in people not using their real name -AND- being much more evil about what level of cheating they will do under the pseudonym. Best we can hope for is that that SE "shreds" the accounts with the characters on them, including all gil, items, characters, gear.
The amount of information people feel they are entitled to baffles me..XD
Maybe you can be perfectly happy knowing that an irreversible damage is to stay on a game you dedicate your time to being covered up. I just think it's painful and it's disrespectful for the legit players to get banned/caught in this mess without a proper acknowledgment and handling.
"Legit" is not enough in my eyes. The question is: did the person question expect there to be a high % of RMT gil involved and is it reasonable to expect them to have considered it?Maybe you can be perfectly happy knowing that an irreversible damage is to stay on a game you dedicate your time to being covered up. I just think it's painful and it's disrespectful for the legit players to get banned/caught in this mess without a proper acknowledgment and handling.
Legit is by no means equivalent "good enough", it just means that you didn't break a certain arbitrary set of rules. That's just a first layer.
It amaze me how much people think SE did any kind of investigation. Someone came up to the forums last week claiming he bought gils online and didn't suspended or anything. They just used some kind of automated program and innocent players got caught in the crossfireNot to argue or anything. But truth be told that is the reason for the massive bans. Also the reason
account on legacy severs where not affected by this, and also the reason the games economy is in shambles.
