Housing 6+ months away?

I was shocked to read the producers notes about housing being 6 months after the release of 2.1...I was under the impression that housing was being released with 2.1... What is going on?

I am nearly out of inventory space and was expecting my house to help with that. I was excited to level my crafting in my house and now I will be done leveling crafting by 6 months...bored to tears by 6 months and if housing is going to be as underwelming as the notes said then I'm not going to last.

They brag about 40 items being available to place outside Yipee? 40? What is this Lord of the rings? That's the kind of lacking item placement that game had. Where are the awesome houses we were supposed to see? There should be thousands, millions of items we can place in and out of our house...

They didn't answer any of my questions. Pricing? Lockdowns? Dye tubs? Interactive furney?

Hello? Where is our housing? EQ next is coming out soon...does this game want to live or die?

The housing feature coming in 2.1 will be reserved for Free Companies. Personal housing however is planned to come out 6 months after the 2.1 patch, which most likely means it is planned for patch 2.3.

That's stupid...why shouldn't all the housing come out at once? Housing is housing. If they can release for 1 then it should be working for all. Fix the bugs as we go I need more space! They had already said housing was 2.1 now it's not?

Yea... coming from dimensions, where I have practically 100% free reign over what I place and where with XYZ axis, free placement, rotation, and resizing, plus the ability to place well over 2,000 items (after unlocking item limit caps)... I want to be excited for housing in ARR, but they're making it really hard. It feels like they're trying to market a horse and buggy in an economy already dominated by sports cars.

Yep...they brag about all this customization yet they are not giving us any info on item placement and lockdown slots...They didn't answer even 1 of my questions on the question thread and now they blindside me with this 6 months+ away for housing at all.

Can we place items we find in our house? Can we add color to our furniture? Can we put things in our cabinets? Can we place chests on the ground for storage? Will there be crafting tables we can place?

We want our houses.

They said that they have 40 items developed for outside use; not that there is a limit to 40 items that you can place. Give it some time once it's been released. Would you rather have this part of the game de-bugged and developed properly, or have the devs spend most of their time making thousands of items for you to place at release?

Did you even watch the video? There was no grid; he was able to place the items without spacial (X/Y) limitations, and full degree rotation. No resize options, but I think that would be stupid.

I don't recall seeing a video that demonstrated placement, but it's possible I missed it. (Also, you'd be amazed at how handy the resize function in dimensions can get - lets you turn items you might not have thought of using into amazing things).

There's still extremely limited creativity with the housing system as is. We'll never be able to do such fantastic things like this, and it just makes me sad.
