Why would you think I'm trolling? I asked a simple question because I'm genuinely curious. Not every simply made thread is an attempt at trolling![]()

Another one of these threads...
It's simple, do you have a good gaming PC? Then get the PC version. No? Get the PS3 version, and then later on you can upgrade to the PS4 version.

PS3 is the baseline, it works.
One thing I should note that the PS3 version performance is greatly improved if you use a SSD. Maps load faster, players appear faster, less FPS shutter and drops. The PS3 version relies on the HDD much more than the PC version.

Some of us prefer controller over keyboard here, that is what makes it an opinion, similarly, your perspective that mouse and keyboard is faster presumably comes from your own experience, which is thus also subjective opinion. If using a controller were universally inferior to keyboard and mouse, none of us who use both would ever disagree with you. But some of us do, thus what makes it subjective opinion, not fact. It's not an 'opinion'; it's fact. It is both easier to target PCs and use abilities with a keyboard/mouse. Keyboards can target players directly instead of having to scroll, and MMO mouses (look them up if you don't know what these are) make hitting abilities extremely easy.
To expand on this a bit logically, you could argue that anyone who is equally proficient in both will in fact find the keyboard to be superior, thus implying that those of us who disagree simply don't know how to use a keyboard properly(although you didn't clarify that in your argument), however without a rigorously performed test covering both groups, including neutral parties, specifically testing with this game (to be a proper benchmark), you have no more standing to state it is fact than those who disagree with you do.
Further any test which does not in fact take into account those who use both but prefer one or the other, but only takes into account those who prefer keyboard, is not a neutral test, and as such any findings would be suspect.
My guess however is that you are falling prey to argumentum ad populum here, wherein you have no objective test to back up your opinion, merely popular opinion, which you are taking to be fact.
Same mistake as the above poster. I think far too many people don't understand what "objective" means, nor "fact". I too use both systems. They both require a different approach to the game, and until such time as a study is made proving that one approach is inherently superior, your "objective" "fact" is based on this: your personal play style. That isn't objective at all, it is very subjective.
There is nothing wrong with preferring one over the other. The mistake is in stating one is "objectively" superior, based on that preference.
I personally think that the controller is superior in every way for party healing as a WHM. This doesn't make it objectively superior, nor a fact, however.
Your personal preference based on your own personal play style is no more objective than mine is.
(Note, I am not trying to be argumentative here.. I am trying to point out the logical fallacy people are making in this discussion. It is the key difference between scientific method, and popular opinion. Substantiate your opinion, or it is still just opinion, not fact, no matter how strongly you believe it)

I have both versions of the game and play regularly on both. I use the PC for Dungeons and Fates because yes the PS3 does have some issues with events that have a lot going on (Fates) or require precision gameplay (Dungeons) I use the PS3 for pretty much everything else, questing, crafting, gathering, exploring. Cause you cant beat laying on the couch with the big screen while doing the boring stuff lol
I'm on PC but who says you have to hunch over a desk. Got it hooked up to the big TV and playing on the couch with my feet up using mouse and nostromo. Keyboard is there in case I need to chat. It's great.

I play on PS3 and have no probs ever, ZERO crashes since launch. The game has ok graphics. But you know what. If you have money and want to get the best out of your PC's hardware and can afford it for the game, then go do that. But if you have a sub par performance PC then just get the game on PS3 and don't spend a penny more other than the sub. My BFF plays it on PC and after 6 months later his pristine new NVIDIA card fried on him due to too much FFXIV he went to spend another $200 more. F+++ THAT! Waste of money just to play an MMO on a PC. If you don't got the money, be grateful enough the PS3 version can play great at 30FPS and get the same experience of the game.

I'm an idort, but PC all the way in terms of this game. The low end graphics on the PS3 simply make the game far less impressive too me; one of the things that struck me about this game was how beautiful it could be on max settings and I don't want to play it looking like someone put a blurry film over my screen. The other thing is the controller, I would very much not want to have to heal more difficult fights without the keyboard.

I Play on a PC with a standard 102 keyboard and a Razor Mouse (Death Adder). I basically play with 1 hand. I keep my left hand on the keyboard so I can press WASD, Alt, Ctrl, Shift, 1 2 3 4 5 6, Q E R F C X Z A with my left hand to execute all my abilities and movement, and I keep my right hand on the mouse for camera positioning.
My PC is Massively Beefy, with 3 solid state drivers, good graphics card, and a 4.8ghz overclocked i5-2500k. Also I'm running on a WQHD monitor at 2560X1440, it's a huge difference over PC. My cutscnes load instantly, so I can skip them instantly. I zone faster than a PS3 (3+ second faster) / e.g. near instant. And my NIC is faster and my pings are lower on PC than PS3. Overall drastically less lag. Lag on my PC is nearly non existant. On the ps3 it spikes all the time.
