thanks for the responses guys. And to Griss, your name sounds very familiar, i am going to take a wild guess that you were in all of the beta's since alpha lol. To Nipa, so basically you are telling me to fully come back in 6months instead? So why would i even open it now then?
it looks like the game has improved a bit since release. the market wards were terrible in beta, im glad they have improved. so am assuming there will never be an AH now? I remember seeing an AH icon somewhere in Limsa in beta. So if you do indeed need to lvl a support class, what are the best support classes if i were to go Gladiator for tanking?
i might wait a bit before coming back, so i will read up or try and find out more from players that are currently playing. all in all, thank you for taking the time in responding to my questions!!
Well since it's still free you may as well at least take a peek. I started playing during beta and stopped shortly after it launched. Kinda forgot it was there for a while, and then came back last week.
To be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised.
For the most part it's still the same game, same basic framework they started with, but the many improvements are great. There's still a lot I'd like to see, chocobos and airships are a biggy, but I think this game is heading in the right direction. It's not a "great" game yet by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it has graduated to "good" game. Better than "barely playable torture" that it used to be, in my opinion.
I'm still sad it had such a rough start, but again I'm really impressed with where it is now and where it's going. I could almost be convinced to start paying a monthly sub for it, if it keeps this up.

I really don't think the forums is for this purpose, but it is the one place you'll get people to give you an opinion. But I'd say wait till 1.18 and 1.19
Wait until patch 1.18. Trust me.

Game improved a ton since beta, but still lacking in the terms of content, which should start getting fixed in the next several updates. make sure to read the devs notes and stuff they are pretty good at letting us know what is coming up.
If you are questioning it waiting until the next big updates is probably a good thing. Once the battle changes are done, dungeons, and stuff are added you will get a good idea if you like the path the game is going and what not.
Wait, unless you want ranks. I'd say wait a few weeks after 1.18 even since people will be hyping it up at the start just cause it's new and you will have a better idea on here if it was anything worthwhile after that initial hype dies down.
It is still free though so nothing really stopping you from trying it.
IF you are bored and have nothing else to do man open that thing up and just play, enjoy the game take your time you got a month before any real content comes out. If I was you I would play take my time leveling up different jobs be in no rush to 50, play with crafting if that is your thing and when content comes you will have something to do.

Thanks for the heads up Dargoth. We shall see, but most of you are getting me to want and open up the collectors edition and start my adventures!! Lol

Well like some of us said...you've already got it, and there's no subscription at the moment, so you might as well get your feet wet! Haha.
But take Dargoth's advice and don't try and rush. You'll just end up getting burned out!
