[Suggestion] Ability to toggle the Agressive Icon for Aggressive Mobs

Suggestion: Simple on/off feature to toggle the red aggressive icon displayed next to aggressive mob's names.

There is already another topic on this exact issue on the General Discussion board:

Having said that, I'll re-post one of my comments from that topic:

Personally, I prefer the way WoW and Rift do it, which is by using color-coded names instead of an obnoxious marker.
Green name = friendly NPC who will not attack you
Yellow name = neutral NPC who will not attack you unless you attack it first
Red name = hostile NPC who will attack you if you get too close
Not only are the color-coded names less intrusive, they also create less clutter, and allow players to distinguish between THREE different types of NPCs instead of only two types.

Marking hostile NPCs was a good idea, but in this particular situation color-codes work better than icons.

An alternative method to do it could be to utilize a slow "pulsating" animation on the text outline, perhaps like this:
There are probably other ideas that could work too, such as a red glow around the text, or a red underline, or any number of things which are less intrusive than the Red Sun of Death™.

Using a color-coded system instead of an icon for discerning aggressive mobs isn't going to make FFXIV into a WoW clone. Sorry.

Yeah but there is better way to do it, remove the icon on monster name, but have it display when you target on a mob. Like how they already have the icon for monster strength, they just need to add another icon next to the one they already have. Just make it look better, not the silly one that they have right now. That would be better in my opinion.

I disagree. I think it's better if you can tell which mobs are aggressive simply by looking at the name above their heads. If you have to target them first to see if they're aggressive or not, then you could only tell which mobs were aggressive one at a time.

No, I just don't think color code work well in FFXIV. It make it a little too distracting. But I guess it's better then the cartoony photoshop icon we have now over the monster.

Ready my above post, I'm saying there better way to do it make it fit in this game better and not moving it toward the Wow ways.

my bad then, i agree with the 15min photoshop works.
and i agree with your idea of only showing it when you scroll over, toggling option also works.

Your suggestion is the best one, I would love that color coded system. Also shouldn't this thread be in the Battle Content forum?
