Bad bards are about the only thing that makes me rage. Let me clarify. I should say impatient bards. I mark targets, but it's very annoying for a Bard to go balls to the wall on the target the very moment he/she sees my Tomahock Throw. It's not so bad when they AoE as it gives me time to get in overpowers/flash to establish some emnity. However, when they just go balls to wall single target dps while I try to position mobs and such for overpowers/flash so they don't go straight to the healer....then blame me when they inevitabley pull emnity...while running away from me, continuing to attack, and not using an emnity drop (quelling strikes?). *sigh* Naturally, I'm blamed as being a "suck" tank because the bad bard couldn't be bothered to wait on his dps. Dead Bard is better than a dead healer, though. Again, it's not all Bards...only a few.

Melee dps typically follow me. I have time to build emnity on all targets before they unleash hell. Plus with positioning requirements, they require a little build up time before they really start contending for for emnity. Black mages and Arcanists can be annoying if they spam the crap out of AoE the moment they see a tomack throw akin to aforemention Bard. However, most at least wait until I've got mobs clustered.

This really goes for any DPS( I know you addressed this a bit above). I have been running CM to get Philosophy for better gear, with the occasional AK run thrown in. However, a lot of dps think they can go all out as soon as I mark a target in AK or throw a tomahawk. Or they open up with an AOE before the mobs have even gotten close enough for my group hate abilities to be used. I get blamed for not holding hate because people are so impatient to finish these dungeons. Give me literally a second or two once the mobs reach me to cast flash and maybe an overpower to get hate on all mobs. That is really all I ask. I know that with my current gear I am not as good as a tank in full darklight, but I can do my job as long as you LET me do my job.

@Angelwatch: I do feel the same. I feel people should, out of respect to your group, tell them before starting if you are new or not. That way me or someone else will explain it. However, I cant agree on the part about the 3k HP limit really, I did AK fresh in my 45-50 job set with ifrit weapon on my warrior, my friend did it in 45-55 parts. The place went alot smoother than WP which is supposed to be easy.

The dreaded "dps check" on demon wall is a joke. You dont need gear to kill it, you need smart people standing in the right places so they can freecast to their max. Start left/right side, move mid, back to left/right, back to mid for repel. Easy since the AoE is never random. This allows you max uptime as whatever dps you are, you should never have to interrupt a cast. Then sure gear matter a bit at flies, but all you really need is a geared tank and healer to ignore flies. I've never died on wall due to lacking dps, only to stupidity or wrongly placed players.

Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day.

I have a macro setup, that has caused people to think I'm being a dbag.

    I mark targets

    /marking "attack1" <t>
    /party Attack <t>!

They see a sentence with ONE capitol in it, AND an exclamation mark and are like 'woah dude, stop yelling at me'

Well every sentence in the English language should start with a capitol. Yes, I'm giving a command, which is what an exclamation mark atually designates. I read up on my fights, so I know what to mark. If I don't, usually one of the 2 whm's I run with will mark stuff. He may not have a chat comment to go with an enemysign, but it's more likely (s)he'll flip on you for not following marked targets.

My macro is really just informative. If people don't follow it, I just try to cope, get threat on the mobs they wake up/disturb etc.

    Yes, I'm giving a command
Do not give people commands, unless they ask you to.

This is not actually true. The period is used for both declarative (information is being conveyed) and imperative (a command is being given) statements. Exclamation points are used for exclamatory (strong or elevated) statements. This link might help: http://quizlet.com/8363796/declarati...s-flash-cards/

I have had groups that all have Relic+1s taking as long as guys with Ifrits on the wall. Sure, there are limits with how bad gear you can do it, but player skill plays a major factor too.
