I'm not sure what this has to do with the scenario I gave.just going to respond because i'm already here.
a fun fact about mobs that use spells: if you are not in their view and the spell is not an AOE, it will fail. meaning that if you rotate an enemy spellcaster at a certain speed, you will never take damage. this can be done with sprites, mages, bosses (like void cthulhu), spirits, succubi, and floating eyes.
might make a melee Dps mad, but you make healers job boring in the process
Also the other post I made was for you as well.
it was relevant to the first paragraph of the second scenario, just a little thing i found.
i did see the other post though, the tank was an ass. there is nothing more to say.
he needs to learn how healing works before trying to telling someone to "learn their role."
as a tank i like to keep my party alive, if i am having trouble keeping hate on enemies i would rather have a healer or BLM sleep them to reduce the burden (this is as a paladin of course, i'm pretty sure warriors have a better time AOE tanking). i feel that if someone pulls a mob away from me and said mob's HP is above half, i have failed and will rush to try to get it's attention.
ive had mean people run with me, i have had nice people. during my first run at longstop i had a dps that was hostile to me to an extent, but he helped me better learn my role. i have had healers that are obsessed with AOE heals and make my job tough, i have had dps that acted independently. even then i do my best to keep hate, as i have found it that the dungeon progresses quicker if i make sure that i am the center of every single mob's attention and DPS/healer isn't dying because they pulled something off of me.
