Honestly I've had more healers be just straight up... 'meanies', even when they are the ones who mess up. Probably because I'm a tank but w/e.
Got out of an AK group, I wanted to force d/c so bad because the healer started to cuss me out after we had *agreed* to burn the wall down because I let a fly get on him. The guy refused to go cleric's stance too, then when we kill the wall, he's like 'idot fukg tank'. The only reason I stayed was because when I said I was going to leave, the two dds spoke up saying they didn't do anything and it would be crappy of me to leave and screw them over.

People need to chill out. Next time I won't be so caring, we don't have to put up with harassment, period. Funny thing is, the whm said he'd report me if I left xD

Like that ticket would hold up. Like I said, most @sshats I run into are healers. I've had one AK run where we went through 3 healers before we even got to the first boss. One left after the first pull because the Follower got his summons out.

There's only been 1 group where I ever left. That was in CM where we had 2 DD's go AFK on the very first pull. My opinion. If you queue up for a dungeon and go AFK right off the bat with out telling people, I'm not running with you.

The community in this game's scary. Too many people that think too much of themselves while the nice ones prefer to play with their friends only, than risk bump into d-bags on DF. Hence why we have so many nasty players using DF (not says 100% of the Df users are bad people, please...). It's silly to point a finger and say that only a certain class have d-bags, you only notice more on tanks because you don't tank and isn't an a-hole yourself.

Or really what you really mean is that the nice tanks have friends to play with :P

Using the DF you've all types of people. Some BLM sleep a trash pack, some go straight to AoE. Some bards start slow, some drop the hammer ASAP, it's our job as a tank to adapt and make it work. That bein said, if people can't follow a simple instruction like "kill the lowest number first", I'll give them one provoke. After that, they go balls out on #3, they can tank it

I consider myself a decent tank...not the best, not the worst and once I learn the fight, I'm pretty good. I have actually found that dps and healers can be just as rude to the tank. I've also seen people bully and belittle others beside the tank because of a simple mistake or lack of understanding that could easily be corrected with a short explanation.

My point is this: It's not just the tanks that have attitudes. I personally would prefer to be in a fail group of respectful people than in a successful group where one d-bag makes the run miserable for everyone because he isn't willing to play as part of the team or listen/learn from his mistakes. I'm a pretty laid back tank with a lot of patience but have none for rudeness or belittling or bullying.

I did not pay to WAIT to play the game. I paid to PLAY.

I never see the reason to be rude to anyone. I know how what to pull and how, the limits the group and I can handle, kill order etc. My problem stems from DPS who think I'm not pulling enough (WoW mentality) or going through the dungeon fast enough. Granted, I DO NOT run through mob pack after mob pack, but once the mobs die I move on cautiously. It's part of being the Tank. Lucky I have only experienced one off player during my FF XIV play time. On any pull with 3 mobs, he would run off around a corner or where others mobs are and pull them back to me. We didn't think much of it the first few times, but after like the 8th pull we decided to fix the issue. He just kept this up until my wife stopped healing and I refused to pull hate from him. The unnecessary stress this puts on the party as a whole is pointless. We never wiped, but I place that on the fact that my wife and I were able to prepare. After 4 deaths he decided to leave the group. He got replaced and we had a fantastic run.

I doubt I'll say anything that has not already been said. Players of all types can be unsociable. It gets noticed more with tanks because they are the focal point of the party. Good tanks and good heals often cover for bad DPS, but DPS generally can't cover if the tank or heals fail. Few notice and fewer care when DPS are unsociable, they're part of the background. So when a tank or healer gets or gives grief, people notice.

Extra pack gets pulled into the party? Eh, just another tab targeting ranged dumb@ss who doesn't look before he hits the next ability.
Similar thoughts for most of the points made in earlier posts.

I don't really care if we get rage for our attitudes from bad DPS and entitled healers. (I like to heal as a break because it is the hands down laziest job in MMOs.)

I don't rage on other players in the lazy roles who pull dumb crap, sometimes mistakes happen. But the actively malicious "gogogo" DPS who make life hard for the new kids and the heals who like to pull extortion tactics on the other members... these I have no time for. Takes me fifteen minutes to wait for the DF cooldown, I can grab a coffee and run a couple FATEs, it takes them longer to wait for another tank.

I have not tanked much in this game, I'm taking the time to level slowly and enjoy all the content, but I've tanked extensively in other MMOs. I love the role, I love being the in your face leader up the front taking the boss on while my sidekicks have to creep around its ass or snipe it from afar. I love levelling with something that doesn't get torn apart by random mobs out in the wilderness.

I'm starting to think other players constantly whine about tanks because they're bored spamming only 2-3 buttons and in need of attention due to choosing to be the support staff.

Now I'm just musing, so I'll leave on that thought, it makes me smile.

Things change tremendously once you reach endgame. Healing isn't lazy and if you think it is, your party will wipe. Also if DPS are spamming 2-3 casts, their DPS will be horrible and will wipe. Just some thoughts

Really? I get the most passive tanks. Whenever I join the hard modes of the primals, they are very indifferent of becoming the main tank or the other tank. "You choose, Creed."
