Okay, we all know theres a few issues with FFXIV, some general others more specific. I am not one to post on fourms, but I felt a conviction to do so. Because, when we are looking at a final product, not only do I want to make this my main MMO-style game, I want to be a happy customer.
-Graphically
In this category the problems I have found are the constant tearing in full-screen and the camera shaking. Direct X 10 or 11 support should be brought to FFXIV in the future so when a new windows comes out we aren't completely out of luck.(The reason I say future is the amount of time it would take to reprogram the graphics engine could be very tedious).Next, the camera shaking when running down hill I realize this has been brought up many times. Although, I would like to point it out because it has to be fixed before this can go pay to play.
-Battle Mechanics
Not going in depth here due to the update in June.
-SP/EXP
Okay theres a few things here that could use fixing. SP gains should be normalized and guardians aspect and behest bonus gone. Now wait till the end to flame please. Okay in a MMO-environment behest is not the best solution here I would like to propose a system similar to campaign where to mobs attack in waves but no party is required to participate but make the enemies stronger if your in the battle. So all players can have fun and gain SP/EXP. Just like campaign in FFXI the EXP/SP gained would be equal to the rank of the area vs. your rank and how much you participate in damage dealt and healing done. The nice thing would be the rewards would still be worth the time of doing behest(I know 5-20k wont make a person rich but every bit helps). Possibly the reward could be cheaper teleports instead of the registering favored location bit. The limit of 8 people per Behest is very bad during peak times and on populated servers. Removing guardians favor would be good for one reason, SP/EXP gains could be increased thus making more of a leveling slope instead of leveling walls. Some level ranges do not need the SP/EXP and in my opinion that would be ranks 1-25. I think leveling off of levequests and behest only leaves much of the game unexplored and untouched. Also, adding some more EXP/SP camps would be nice (not just dungeons). Also, the fatigue system needs to go as well, the reasoning for it would be gone if the SP/EXP was normalized.
-Classes
The classes we currently have are a bit limited, although crude they do get the job done. Here is what I propose, using the prerequisite system (reference FFT) to access a more advanced version of the class and then we could get the original jobs back and have the fun of the new ones too. For example say you wanted to be a samurai, a rank 15 lancer and 15 marauder (just a guess) would be required to access the class, plus the great katana. Paladin would be another, it could possibly be a 15 gladiator and 15 conjurer and a different kind of sword like perhaps call it a broad sword (open to any other options). This could be done with all classes and instead of having a WoWish talent tree system or something like the job quests from FFXI (though I did like those). This method would support the current ability-equip system and make players get familiar with the 2-3 classes needed to play that class.
-Economy
Only one major item to add here, please put an Auction house in this game! Retainers are great and all but there just so cumbersome and time consuming. Possibly replace the retainer with a mog house style system. Many people are wanting a house to decorate and show (my wife included). I'm not saying use the exact same thing because this is not FFXI, just saying the idea was good and kinda fun.
*side note: I may not be as experienced as others as I am a newer player. I'm only a month in this game (did play the beta tho) just voicing my opinion on issues I see as a gamer who has played many mmos in the past including WoW, EQ 1 and 2, FFXI, etc.. I want to see this game work for us as players and for SE as a business. If the graphics (shaking) and EXP/SP were fixed, I myself have no problem paying the monthly fee to help get this game off the ground. MMOs in general are a business and theres always tough competition so I feel everyone should voice their opinion so SE has a successful game.
