It's completely believable that they would scrap the PS3 version. It's completely believable that they still go to mint with it. This would not be the first time a game has had it's console counterpart scrapped due to poor sales. (AoC was announced for 360 back in the day, but Funcom pulled it, it's the same thing here)

SE has lost about 30% of their assets in the latest forecast .pdf. FFXIV hurt. Lack of sales in console games hurt. Spending the money to finish porting XIV to PS3 (Which isn't complete, BTW, but it's like throwing money in a well to finish either) might not be an option for them at this point until they gain ground in other areas. (They want to buy a few more IPs and create 2 new IPs for SE for instance)

They will not scrap the PC version, I don't think. It will still take them a year or two to get back into black on this project, but it's possible. Trying to sell boxes for PS3 with Tera and GW2 on the horizon might be a suicide mission.

Or maybe they left XIV off the slides due to an oversight or other error. Companies usually don't tell you if they scrap a game or something goes into dev hell. I don't think Funcom has annoucned that AoC isn't coming to 360 still and that's two years in the past.

The point in the "doom sayer's rumors" or whatever is that... this is a believable scenario now. Also, how does Wada still have a job?
