It's not as simple as putting the PC version onto a disc. They didn't make one cross-platform piece of software. They had to take one version and use it to make the other, which is one of the reasons PS3 didn't launch last September.

3. FFXI makes money, sure. SE makes money all sorts of ways. I'm not saying SE is doomed. I'm just saying that a company may choose not to throw good money after bad. While all of this has been going on, in spite of whatever commitments may have been made regarding the PC version, enough fans are SCARED that they won't see a PS3 version because of the failed PC launch.

4. There was a typo in that ; ;... SE is working to improve FFXIV for the PC. I just meant that the amount of effort being put into the PC changes SHOULD be huge, and by all accounts IS. This delays the PS3 launch so we shouldn't expect it to happen soon because there's a lot more development to do. So why then isn't it projected for the following fiscal year?

5. Yes but they're being awfully vague with us. Their official document says something that has alarmed some of their fans. They could be nice and clear it up. I'm not the only one with concerns about this I'm sure.
#5 Because the absolute worst thing they can do right now is make a promise and then break it. That burned them so bad on PC release that they can't do it again. Giving a projected release and then failing to meet it, even by a day or two, would just cause the same problem they're in now.

They have said they are working on it. They have said they don't know when it will be ready. They have said they won't announce it until they are absolutely, positively, sure that it is ready.

So far, everything confirms that.
