PS3 release cancelled?

If you followed the dev trackers you'd nptice one of them actually mentioned the ps3 release i think its in the gender thread and it was bayhorne who mentioned it.

Also I wouldn't look to much into Conan on the 360 being cancelled as that was most likely down to MS, they seem to be in stopping every Dev putting an MMO on the 360 recently, they even put a halt to FFXIV as SE openly stated that they want to have it on 360 but there are some issues with MS.

ya this is what happen with AOC. I was following AOC and wanted to play the "rumored" 360 version of it. The sites never stated a 360 launch, but most game sites do have it listed as tba (or did) Microsoft for some reason doesn't want mmo on the 360. Mostly due to X-box live. They want ppl to buy gold to play their games and ffxi was a 1 time exeption due to the 360 being a fairly new system. They used it as a promo to get ppl interested in online gaming.

With mmo microsoft wants to require a gold membership like most of their games multi player or like PSU. Also PS3 has 2 mmo, Free realms (pretty fun game where life time membership is $35 ) And DCUO (crap game with crap community) Both these game are under SOE.

The reason MMO's are having a hard time getting onto the 360 NOW, is because MS changed their policy on how Xbox Systems connect to the outside world. IE. They can't.

If the MMO devs wanted to host their game on XBOX360 they would have to segregate servers within the XBox Live Architecture which means they would be under the control of Microsoft and not them. That makes it difficult for a developer. For a FPS its not a big deal. you pay microsoft to host the game online it sets up dedicated XBL servers or the game does it via lan only inside XBL and you have no issues. but for an MMO imagine if your Market Crashed and the server had to be worked on and it was in a XBL server farm? that would be a nightmare to me.

The only reason XI managed to get on is because the only server in the farm is the POL server. Which satisfied Microsoft. Then the POL client Tunnels to the FFXI server to connect.

Atleast thats how I understand it.

Microsoft doesn't want the Xbox connecting to the internet, only to the XBL intranet. Which means the MMO developers have to build servers within that intranet. And most don't want to do that. It doubles their hardware investment.

Dude, calm down. I've seen you spam about closing threads in at least 3 or 4 other threads. The mods will close it when they get around to it and if they feel it's necessary. Contrary to popular belief, there aren't mods scouring every thread every second, 24/7.
