No it doesn't and I wish people would really stop all of this doom and gloom. People also believe SE isn't a multi billion dollar (yen) company.
Let's break it down.
#1. Incorrect. The earthquake/tsunami forced every business to take a loss, not to mention the electrical issue hurts productivity as well.1) FFXIV forced SE to take a massive loss this year.
2) Launching FFXIV for PS3 costs more money
3) FFXIV is still losing money for SE every month
4) SE is working to improve SE for PC
5) SE did not report that they are planning to release on PS3 within the next fiscal year.
#2. Incorrect, FFXIV is already launched and it's a cross platform title, therefore the only money spent would be pressing the PS3 disks and even then it could be offered as a DL over PSN.
#3. Doesn't hurt the PS3 version in any way, because the money loss on XIV is heavily outweighed by the money FFXI alone pulls in.
#4. Not sure what this means but it has nothing to do with PS3 version.
#5. SE did report they're ready to release the PS3 version when they feel XIV is ready to be "relaunched."
