What your suggesting wiggles is a terrible idea and I pray to god this post doesn't get taken seriously. I hope you get bored and go back to WoW this week. When you do request this thread to be deleted please!Im a gamer who loves a challenge. I dont scoff at hard difficulty in games, but in an MMO such as FFXIV difficult dungeons/bosses present a unique problem.
Eight people doing something correctly together, coordinating together is very time consuming, and just feels frustrating. If one key role dies such as a healer or tank, the fight goes sour. If someone misses a AOE dodge or does not know the fight it becomes a problem. This is the primary concern of the Duty finder in endgame.
Compared to FFXI, this game is a cakewalk. And yet, tons of people still managed to finish the vast majority of the content in that game.
I love FFXIV but come on, have some perspective.
Managing to finish content and enjoying it are two different things. Banding together to finish CoP? Tricky but rewarding. Spending 30 minutes on Jailers praying you get SOMETHING to drop, and often just getting a seal or nothing at all? Not so much. I'm glad the drop rates in XIV are nothing like the BS that was in XI, but the "mechanics" behind a lot of the HNMs and higher mobs weren't really complicated at all, especially with more than 8 men. The multitasking going on in a lot of the Coil battles is more complex than most of the FFXI ones. Granted, I stopped playing before the Abyssea expansion, so I don't know if they made battles trickier in that.
The endgame elitism in this game seems well on the path to somehow becoming even worse though, so I guess that's an accomplishment.

"Well, it's no Vana'diel, but it'll have to do..."
Lol, the amount of "leetness" on this thread is staggering..
I love some of these replies, this ones my favorite, "hardcore players are the ones who continue to pay subs" ahahahaah ..oh that made me laugh good..
Hardcore players are the whiners, they are the constant stress encountered in almost every MMO. You are the flakes who find 50 things you don't like then quit. You guys pay the bills? Really? How's that when you make up 15% of the pop?
Don't even care about making the game easier, I just hate some of you people I swear..
Yeah I agree with everything you said. I just want to add they also use the most resources (server wise), complain the most, bully and harass "casual" players. I've seen so many players experiences ruined in the game from elite gear checks and bullying.Lol, the amount of "leetness" on this thread is staggering..

I remember the old days of Vanilla WoW where you needed to get and coordinate 40 people for raids, and this was when there was still challenge in the raids. As a side, you only got 2-4 pieces of loot from each bosses to cover those 40 people week in and week out. But to the topic, 8 people in comparison is a pitiful number, and while the encounters do have little space for error, if you can't find 7 other people that are skilled enough/willing to get better (assuming they are 'not skilled'), and are on a similar schedule to you, than it sucks for you, but that doesn't make the game bad.
If it counts for anything, Crystal Tower is going to be in the Duty Finder; whether that means it'll be easy mode and not require any communication and coordination is a different story though. You can always go to one of the other dozen or so MMOs that are less challenging and require less coordination and communication.
This (and the post you quoted) are incredibly broad generalisations. The 'vocal' 'good/hardcore' players come off as elitist because they put in the time and actually accomplish things (and no doubt do their share of complaining), however the vocal 'bad/casual' players generally whine about how content is too hard, that it should be made easier and more accessible, and that they shouldn't have to improve because they're already amazing as they are and are paying monthly so it shouldn't be a job.
Do you see what I did there? Neither 'side' are perfect and the continual push of stereotypes and labels only make things worse. Once you're labelled a casual or an elitist you generally take on that role, and thanks to the trusty internet, the worst traits are the ones that get shown the most.

I think OP wish content where 4 out of 8 ppl can go afk and the rest can still win. :P Well, no. I like it the way it is.
