The MAIN issue with FFXIV endgame is the margin of error; GCD 2.5sec + latency within Duty Finder instances makes for frustrating gameplay instead of exciting. It's not "strategic" because it's more of "did I make it out in time (according to game's refresh rate)?" instead of actually being able to do something. Skills do not go off very well, esp instant skills, or skills off GCD. It's playing with perma-lag + long GCD which prevent you from doing anything (skill/spell speed is a 100% joke, not worth it at all). No skill trees or making more use of materia to customize playstyle/gear (very limited).

If someone misses a AOE dodge or does not know the fight it becomes a problem. This is the primary concern of the Duty finder in endgame.

Ive done the whole teamwork thing. Im in a FC, ran COIL turn 1 and 2 using mumble/teamspeak, use linkshells for good groups, etc but it just comes off as frustrating. Spending up to an hour trying to get people on to do the content, and then the content you attempt is just riddled with tons of mechanics to all be familiar with. All 8 players mind you to perform perfectly.
Mate, this is the point of an MMORPG. I know it's bad when someone fail, but in that case I prefer to play dark souls for a bit, otherwise the benefit (and not) of playing toghether are exactly those you have mentioned. Changing those will reduce the game difficulty, making it more boring (I'm sure you understand why).

Not all content is meant for everyone, if you want something more casual wait for crystal tower. Thats supposed to be easier.

The boss mechanics are simply remember the pattern and dodge AOE's. There is no skill involved. Please tell me where the skill is. Is it in your ability rotations? When to use cooldowns? Dodging AOE attacks, or remembering a pattern? Its not skill its memorization and having every party member on point.

Yes I get it, MMO, rely on other players, but its taken to the extreme here.
LOL, all those things you mentioned pertains to skill, some are more skilled of doing them than others. TOO FUNNY!!!!

My skill is fine, my point is getting 8 competent people together to play decently is problematic. You actually have to schedule time to run things with people. I feel content should be attainable at anytime and should not be so difficult that you have to have all very good players to do it.

If you think your right and the content is not that hard, please duty finder Titan and let me know who that works out.
8 people is not that much. I have played since the eq days and 8 is a cake walk. It just seems to me that a lot of today's gamers just don't want to be challenged like the days of old. People should not just get the best gear in the game without some kind of work. I am sure someone will bring up elitist but it's just a simple fact that in life (I know this game is not life) you can't be the best or have the best w/o work. Want to be a professional boxer and have the world title? Guess what that takes work.

Wiggles is that type of person who wants to log in a game and for logging in, titan dies and drops an ilvl 780 wep that can be used at lvl 1 for all classes, grants a 500000% exp boost, makes him immune to all stuns, sleeps and other enfeeblement effects. He taps forward once and he is then granted 50 billion gil for moving. everything should be ezmode cuz fudge that challanges are to hard.
