Why do people overlevel for for fates?

It is impossible to find a good fate group because everyones too high level to properly exp chain the mobs. The exp gained from fate completion is like nothing compared to what you get from grinding in the fate. People are ignoring an entire exp system designed to reward them for killing mobs above their level.

People seem to go to Costa del Sol at 28 or so. Which happens to be the level where you just about stop getting exp chains from the mobs. That waring off being too low and giving lower contribution means you may have to get credit for 3 kills instead of 2 kills.

I join parties see a person whos level 36 and then promply leave because they are high enough to stop exp gain on the mobs killing over 80% of the fate exp. Sorry I perfer getting 20k solo from the king and I instead of just the 4k from completion. Also high levels kill the rut fate it is so much better exp when you get chain 30 instead of getting 0 exp per kill because someone stayed there way too long.

The concept is the same as dark devices. Exp chain to raise the multiplier and kill mobs to rake in far more exp than the completion reward. Most of the fates just have you mass kill to complete the objective bar so why ruin it by being overleveled you should be moving on to the next exp area to chain fates there.

Save for a few fates like Dark Desire you aren't going to get enough of a chain going for it to matter. Most of the time it's better to just end it as quickly as possible for the fate xp and move onto the next one. You can only really get sufficient xp from fates with continuous spawning enemies that can be farmed. Very few are like that. For any other fate that has you kill n amount you'll end up ending it anyways. No way to get a sufficient chain.
