How bad is your luck with dungeon drops?

Killed Twintania with 3 pieces of i90 and non +1 bow, next two weeks I got 7 pieces of gear including every Bard drop off T5. Worth it.

It took me forever to get Ifrit's Harpoon originally, and I never saw Garuda's Spear either (I've only seen it twice so far, and had to pass both times)

I also just ran Stone Vigil a lot this past week (15-18 times) to get the Wyvern Spear to drop (just because it looks awesome, and I blame the guy who showed me it for all the time I spent in SV).

I have only seen the Hoplite Earrings drop twice, and think the Strategos Earrings drop once. Have all other AK accessories (I think). Also can't recall ever seeing the Hoplite Gauntlets drop at all.


On the other hand, I have both the Calvary and Battlemage sets from Brayflox (and got them all while leveling WHM/WAR), took me no time at all for Ifrit's and Garuda's WHM weapons to drop, have Garuda's Sword and Titan's Axe and Shield (leveling tanks right now, so yay), various other Primal weapons I'm not using for a while, and last night had both Turn 1 drops be things I need; Trousers of Maiming and Ring of Striking.

So, its a bit back and forth.

Bad enough that I turned to crafting, and now don't even bother with dungeons because there's so low a chance I'll upgrade anything.

7 weeks Coil now and this week is the first (and only) Monk loot - how can anyone beat that?

Also run Longstop 25+ times. Saw 3x the Battlemage Body... And lost it to others 2 other times... But got it last night, so yeah! I'm happy about this one! NEVER LONGSTOP AGAIN.

Took me approx. 20 runs of WP (before WP speed runs were a thing) before I even saw the kite shield drop for my PLD. And for the first 5 weeks in Coil, it was nothing but monk and dragoon drops from turns 1 and 2. Drops we couldn't even use because we didn't have a monk or dragoon in our group at the time.

Bad luck, sometimes. I didn't even bother collecting any dungeon gear on my BLM. Either the gear I needed dropped or didn't. And if by chance it did, I lost the rolls to the healers/summoners 90-ish% of the time. And the 45 min-hour long ques weren't cutting it.

I've been called the least lucky member of my FC when it comes to drops, over the past few weeks I've been farming ifrit for a SMN book (I actually have all ifrit weapons now except the WHM staff and the PLD sword)

FORTY NINE TIMES I HAD TO KILL HIM (I actually have been keeping track, 49 kills, 13 fails), and 47 of them were 15 minutes or more apart due to needing to DF him.

we finally got round to making an actual effort to get our relics yesterday, so we fought ifrit (our tank needed 12 myth tomes for his shield+1, so we fought him multiple times)

first time we got the SCH book (which nobody needed (including me, the codex was actually the first thing I got from ifrit, probably a sign that he was going to be teasing me), so we gave it to the WHM).

second time I FINALLY got the summoner book to much cheering over teamspeak (the final time a lance dropped, we gave it to the monk with a DRG alt)

Square REALLY needs to change the loot system for the primal battles, maybe giving us a random drop and/or a token like behemoth or odin, 10 battles and you are guarenteed to get the weapon, but you have a chance of getting it earlier via RNG

and now I have to try garuda T_T

the only time i have gotten a sword drop from any dungeon under level 50 was sunken temple.


took me a stupidly large amount of runs in longstop before i managed to get full calvary. i didn't get a hoplite tabard until i had full dl jewlery, hands and legs/feet.

yet garuda's sword took me one try to get, and titans shield dropped for my first kill (greed rolled it, still got it.) and his bow dropped when i killed him as a bard (greed rolled it, got it.)

Despite my bad luck with the Cavalry and Foestriker's sets, I have been on an absolute roll with Warrior weapon drops. I've gotten every axe from Haukke to SV to drop in at least 3 runs each. I've also managed to get the Ancient Sword and Wyvern Spear from SV on greed rolls (seriously, are all of the weapons from that dungeon designed to look awesome, haha!)

This can only mean one thing: it will take me an eternity and a half to complete the Sentinel's set in Dzemael, as well as obtaining the Coliseum Set. My body is prepared! ...for disappointment
