Is there a way to increase macro details?

I was just wondering if there was a way to make macros display the tp/mp cost of skills like they have on the actual skill.

I made my shield lob macro to mark targets but I miss having the tp cost display in the corner of the macro that changes colour when you're in range.

So is there a command or something to make that display on the macro?

If not I think it would be a nice feature to add, or maybe even make it so we can tac text commands onto our actions rather than making a macro.

I don't think there is what you're looking for.
You can still use /echo, though. It sends a text to your chat window that only you can see.

Edit: Re-reading your post, even /echo will be pretty useless for you.

    /macroicon "Ability's name"

place it at the top of the macro's commands.

afaik there is no way to have the macro display the MP/TP cost of an ability... using /micon, or adjusting the macro icon look in the macro editor only changes the face plate and does not include those details. Nor is there a way for it to recognize range for your attack... or have the ability help tooltip show up.

I think the easiest thing for you might be to have 2 actions. 1: Shield Lob (basic action) & 2: Shield Lob (macro, with ability / marking)
I know the people that put party-chat in combat macros are ... in for a world of hurt if they have to spam them. Myself I have the chat-macros (stun down, silence down ... need MP/TP... melee-LB now / AoE-LB now) set individually and only keep those on my hotbar that I will need for the fight.
I also have the marking flags dragged on to a common hotbar, that way I can mark on the fly without having to open the window up ... or have my macro change the target marking if I have to use it for something OTHER than what I'd intended (provoke > shield lob to pull hate back for example, you wouldn't want the target marked or at least not the same way)

/micon (/macroicon) does show the MP/TP cost, as well as whether you're in range/move is currently useable, and the cool down. But only on the icon itself not in the text description. Also it only covers the cost/range/cooldown of the move listed in the "" not all the moves listed in the macro combined.

@Obreck I'll have to check in a bit... when I was using micon before it wasn't doing that (that I remember) but if it does that's exactly what he's looking for.

I still recommend you use 2 macros though, so as not to mark/unmark or change mark if you have to use that skill for something else.

It didn't do the range thing, it's a shame that would have been perfect if it did.
You're probably right about the having a separate macro for marking but I use the cross hotbar so it's a little less convenient. I'll work something out. Thanks for all the suggestions.

    /macroicon "Ability Name"

with capitals and quotation marks.. the picture will still show as an M or whatever you set it to on the macro window. but will change to the macro icon when you place it on your hotbar..

    /micon also works

goes on the first line of your macro not the title bar

So I just started using PLD again and the /micon is now doing the range! But I'm certain it wasn't doing it before, I went all the way back out of provoke range and it was still blue when I tested it. Maybe it requires a log out first?
