Final fantasy 14 minimizing every 20 minutes.

I don't understand why its doing, it started happening recently where i was just playing and BOOM! it just minimizes. It doesn't crash, it doesn't give me any errors. all it does it minimizes during full screen. and if i use windowed, it will deselect the screen and my character will run a random direction. do you guys have any ideas why this is happening?

Haveyou tried to check your running processes?
Check your msconfig maybe.
Have you Rebooted?

Sounds like you have some kind of background application running that's taking focus away from FFXIV. You might want to check your running processes in Windows Task Manager and kill anything running that you're not familiar with or you don't need running. A virus scan and running a program like HiJackThis to track down any suspicious behavior might be a good idea too.

I'm running a virus scan right now. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with comodo or avast considering those are the only recent changes that i have made on my computer.

I figured it was either comodo or avast. Turns out comodo was doing it, idk how but it was. I uninstalled comodo and haven't had the problem yet. thanks for the help.

-NEVER- install two antivirus programs, particularly ones that have obnoxious user interactions (Avast does this, but so do several others, where they put stupid taskbar popups for "your system is clean, upgrade to the better more expensive version for no reason other than to give us money")

You want to avoid the extra overhead.
