Okay honsetly I don't see the point in dyes when you cant dye items such as the dragon armor "the lvl 45-50 quest armor btw" and items like it "dark light" honsetly why have dye if people cant dye any armor to fit his or her self.

The level 45-50quest armor set, AF, is iconic. In the case of DRG, it has looked like that for about 25 years, since FFII's Ricard. It looks like it does for a very specific reason.
dyeing is exclusive to crafted gear because its crafted gear that's meant to be customizable. besides dying, adding stats through materia.
There very much is a point to it, even if you can't dye certain items.
All items should be dye-able within reason.
Also if you're so bent on maintain AF as standardized, ok, leave that AF and AF2 out of the loop, but I don't necessarily agree.
I strongly believe you should be able to dye all gear.
Why do we have tons and tons of green gear from dungeons and blue tome gear we can't dye ? Huh ? Screw AF, talking about the vast majority of armors here....
I mean, we can dye white and pink quality gear just fine, and those are NOT crafted, so the "crafted" bit is not imposed as a rule (yet)..
Gah, why must some things be so half-assed in the game <_<

You level up so fast that you go through gear very fast that dyeing any gear but level 50 gear is pointless. Also you can wear a bikini or even the gear you start off with from 1-50 doing FATES that's another reason why dyeing gear pre 50 is pointless.
um im level50 and thing is everything should be dyeable because if it not everyone is basicly the same look same skills etc takes the hole point out of it and working on dark light which should be dye able
I honestly cannot fathom why dungeon gear cannot be dyed... Then again, I also cannot fathom why gear like Acolytes is Lv.15 while at Lv.50 you get stuck with trash like Strategos and Demagogue.... Maybe if leveling was as much a grind as it was in vanilla XI, but it isn't; that unique gear they put in the first dungeons gets replaced in 5 minutes (hyperbole ho!), and from the start the developers stance seems to have been "the game starts at 50", more like "the game starts in 2.2"... Heck, I'd rather see Acolytes and Battlemages set replace Darklight... Why the hell do we reach Lv.50 and suddenly go "Those Ascians sure know how to dress!"? That vanity system simply cannot come soon enough...

Oh I agree with this. I don't mind Darklight, but I wish we could dye it. I'd love to run around with Dark Blue or Red Darklight, if only to make myself a bit more unique lookingI honestly cannot fathom why dungeon gear cannot be dyed...
