SMN and BLM DPS Comparison

I ran AK with my SMN and the other dps was a BLM with nearly full DL gear (- one ring) + Garuda Weapon:

I on the other hand am using my Ifrit Weapon + a couple of DL relics and Demagogue Gloves, Shoes and Earrings and a Ring.

Based on our DPS, his was 134 while mine was 132 (me 94 + garuda egi 38)

The difference between our overall damage is roughly 4k points, that's because he was the one to use LB on the final boss.

So SMNs and BLMs are roughly equal in terms of DPS

so I was gonna say and this is an inaccurate example, but I took the time to test the parser a few minutes ago, how I test the parser on dots is like this. I cast all 3 dots on the target dummy and jot down the dot numbers I see on the screen and sum it up. this is the numbers I got from casting BIO II Miasma and bio (ignored thunder for now)

89 311 357 269 274 269 268 171 169 88, the total is 2265, and the parser told me the overall damage is 2151 (just a little lower than the real damage), and it's an almost accurate simulation, which surprised me tbh.


but the problem is I tried to multi dot and casted 3 dots to 2 target dummies to see how accurate it is for multi dotting scenarios, here I was expecting at least 4200 overall damage, but the parser only showed me 2743, very inaccurate, I then tried to multidot via bane, the results were terrible, 1574 total overall damage on a 2 targets multi dotted bane.

and it also still doesn't track shadowflare ticks.

people are saying parsers are making smns look good, when in reality, it's making us look really bad.

it also doesnt track extended dots via contagion.

doesn't track dots with raging strikes.

it's still very unreliable for dot classes such as ours.

The consensus is they're either identical or SMN is slightly ahead.
