Even if SE removed all gil from a player when they moved off it doesn't stop them from spending it beforehand on endgame sellable items before they transfer. It would just be too inefficient to have to investigate each and every player that wants to transfer off.

I'm just gonna tell myself that you don't 'get' why we're angry, instead of thinking you're skull is too thick...
Many of us have suggested options to what you said. Make all items transferred 'bound' and untradeable.
So now what'cha got for us.

Again, if you're not pissed about this it's because you got lucky on this one. But Mark my words a day will come when you're part of a major issue and SE treats you and your kind the same way. It'll happen.

As far as I'm concerned there are way more pressing issues to fix than changing their policy on server transfers. Like teleport hacks, and exploits to get lv50 crafters instantly. Would I think there is a way to deal with the transfer issues. Yes, I'm sure there is. But I dare say its not high on the to do list.

A. Keep your progress you made on the old server and stay on the old server = cake
B. Reroll on a new server like everyone else on the new server = eat it

Of course I want to eat the cake I made or bought. I've always hated that analogy. It makes no sense.

Anyway, many people still just don't get it. I will try to explain:

I am a Legacy Player so of course I chose to continue in 2.0 on a Legacy World.

After watching me play (and creating her own character on my account), my daughter decided to purchase the game so that we could play together.

After installing the game and creating her new character, EXCALIBUR WAS FULL & CLOSED TO NEW CHARACTERS!

Excalibur remained closed since launch and only recently has sporadically been opened for new characters.

My daughter spent the whole time leveling her character on the Cactuar World with the hope of transferring to Excalibur when it becomes available.

SE announces World Transfers but lists Excalibur as FULL and probably will not allow transfers.

As a Legacy, I cannot join her on Cactuar. (which is also listed as a full world anyway)

So what are we to do now? Are we both supposed to apply to a different Legacy World and hope & pray that we both get in? (even though all the Legacy Worlds are pretty much full). or go with your solution that we just throw out the cake and we both reroll on a low population server?

Sorry for the rant but it has been and still is very frustrating.

yes, both of you should transfer to a legacy server that is available for being transferred to, simple as that. If all legacy servers become so bloatedly full, then se will most likely open a new one.
and yeah, funny story how many legacy players are so willing to transfer to non legacy ones, but when telling them that their friends can simply transfer to their server they either

- come up with the "my legacy server is full excuse" (simply solved ,see above)
or
- i can not expect them to give up their prrreciousss fc and friends they made in this month (but you obviously can live with disregarding the friends/fc you had for many months or years on your legacy, lol)

I hope it's that simple but I have my doubts. In any case, we are going to try to get her on my World rather than risk only 1 of us getting successfully transferred to a 3rd World which is essentially my beef with this whole process.

Players are being told to "apply & hope" they get on the same worlds together. I kinda wish SE would let us apply in groups instead of individually. My group would be just us 2 and if we could apply together than SE could tell us if it will be allowed or not.
It won't do us any good if one of us gets the transfer but the other doesn't. We'll be back in the same boat as before.

As for me being willing to leave my World, it's really none of your business and I see no reason to mock me about it but I will tell you that I have not joined (or created) a Free Company yet BECAUSE of the uncertainty of the server situation and not knowing where my daughter and I will eventually be.

the second part was about the reasoning which many people ,who demand to transfer from legacy to non-legacy, use and not about you directly.

i'm ok with legacy characters transferring to non legacy servers IF

- you can not transfer anything but spiritbound stuff
- heavy gil limit
- the gobbue mount becomes available for non legacy players as well

Lol, i can tell you, you would have hundreds of unhappy people shake your hand and say 'DONE'!....

If only SE would give people that are in a bad position such a choice or any choice infact.
