    How Does A Lv28 THM Kill A L31 Stroper?

I have died twice, trying to kill the second of my three Hunter Log Stropers. Both times they put all kinds of de-buffs on me (five or six?). Drinking one of six antidotes and spamming my self-heal spell didn't do a bit of good.

What's the secret to solo-killing them? Solo is the key word here.

Yes, I am using the Protect spell. Yes, I have eaten a +6 Spell Speed meal.

Yes, I'm in a FC. No, I can't get help from my FC buddies, as I'm playing during the daytime right now, and they are working people. (I'm a Federal employee who is on furlough.... )

I don't play this game in the evening because that's when my MMO buddies and I are playing SWTOR. So, please don't offer hooking up with a FC tank or healer as a suggestion.

These Stropers are TOUGH. Please advise.

Hmmm if you are killing them in central shroud there are 2 kind of stropers, one of them is from a quest an they cant be dealt with i you dont have the quest item, but I dont think that your log is telling to kill that one so this shouldn't be the issue. Getting hit by the abiliity bad breath means dying being a class like THM, make evading it your priority if you haven't already.

Also use Hi-potions even if you have cure cross-classed other than that I can't think of anything more than that without leveling, being helped or getting better gear.

See the red stuff on the ground? Run OUT of it, don't just stand in it, which is what it sounds like you're doing. Keep this mentality for the rest of the game. Basically, as you'll hear in dungeons later, "Don't stand in sh*t."

You should not be getting hit by Bad Breath like the last few posters said. Malboro-type enemies like these seem to use it as soon as they get close to you so keep an eye out. The range is huge but if you zoom the camera out you should be able to see the range of it and run out of it, it has a long wind-up time.

I did it by standing on the bridge in hopseed pond and hitting it with blizzard , thunder and continuing blizzard until it died . It never was able to hit me with it's breath and they all died quickly ( I was hit once or twice I think ). They try to get onto the bridge to attack you , with blizzard slowing them down they're almost dead when they reach you.

This is something all tanks learn eventually but other jobs dont always pick up on, dont run sideways on breath attacks when your in melee range. If the molboro is wacking you be right up against it, when it starts bad breath run straight THOUGH the monster. This is the most efficient way to dodge breath attacks that start there cone in front of or close to the front of a monster. Some large mobs have the point of there breath attack futher back at the center of their model, and on those its faster to dodge sideways. But on Marboro always run through them.

Thank you for the good advice.

I will stand on the bridge and start my attack from there.
