Totaly legal thing to do, failing a leve to be able to redo it
the last long thread we had on this originated in the bug forum, AND a dev chimed in and told us it was legal

It's also heroic doing the exact same objective leves for the past...7 months, isn't it?
People that 'fail' their leves on purpose sacrifice faction points and any other rewards for stability with their static party. Nobody has to do this, but do not ride on the backs of people doing it, then complain after getting your sp. That seems really self-centered and unfair. Getting the benefits of their sacrifice, then pointing the finger.

making the community not fun? are you serious? leve parties at this point are one of the few fun things in the game for most people. i know many that only come in in the evenings just to join in a leve party. if it were not for them they would not be coming in game at all.

no... bye...
DAM how many of these are their going to be??? SE said its working as intended. They said thats they designed it that way. So its not cheating. You either get reward or get SP over and over it's players choice.

You don't have to utterly destroy the boy. He asked a question, got it answered. /thread.
The rest of the thread is made up of people shouting at him for making such a thread
It's not like there's a thread limit that once we've reached it, we won't be able to make new threads
FFXIV is SOOOO real life. For crying out loud, it's a game. Doesn't need to be heroic; needs to be fun. And in my opinion, it actually makes the community more fun, as others have posted, because it makes people want to do leves, giving them something besides obscenely stupid amounts of gil to look forward to.

Optimization is definitely a great deal of fun for some players. If it's optimal to cancel a leave, then it will be the most interesting thing to do for those players.
Those players were finding interesting to hit the same mob for 20 minutes without killing him to maximize their SP before. Those players will probably be the one who will only run the most rewarding dungeon if there are multiple of those in the future.
Don't assume your definition of fun is the only one. Think of the crabs.

A lot of players feel its unethical but theres currently no rules against it. If enough outrage over it is presented to SE they might do something to fix it. But right now they are not interveneing because they feel its working as intended. the player is trading off SP gains for money and loot. They dont get both.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
doing the same thing for 7 months isnt heroic either. Nor is being the guy who watches everything unfold in cutscenes. Nor is crafting.
Linking dunesfolk seems to be the ONLY thing people get excited about inbetween patches.
And how exactly is it ruining the community? apparently you dont even play the game so what are you basing it on?
