Speed-running cut-scene skippers...

I have a possible solution to the problem of having to deal with the speed-run people for those that want to enjoy the cutscenes, at least on their first go through a dungeon:

I'm on the Midgardsormr server and am not even high enough level on the job I want to finish the story with (WAR, currently at 36), so the need to do those high level dungeons isn't even on the near horizon yet. But after reading thread after thread about people with this problem, I created a linkshell called "Dungeon Help LS". It's primary purpose is to give people who want to go through the cutscenes on their first run though the opportunity to do so without people complaining at them. The LS will be full of people who are willing to go through a dungeon like the high level ones and give the person a chance to actually enjoy the storyline of the dungeon!

Another benefit of this linkshell is for people who want to help others with lower level dungeons, giving friendly guidance on safe ways to do the boss fights (I know I did Brayfox's Longstop and had a time trying to figure out how to properly tank the dragon and the other party members had a fit because I couldn't figure it out and I got annoyed with them yelling at me to do it right, when I really was trying.).

I would propose that someone create a LS like this on EACH server, and have a group of people willing to help others out (those that want the help can join and quit the LS at their leisure....I don't know if there's a limit to how many people can be in a linkshell!)

i'm not really sure why you would think that, but you're entitled to your opinion.

If you were as philanthropic as you make yourself out to be, you'd let people who run it for the first time enjoy the cutscenes while waiting for them and explaining the fights instead of powering through with a " hey, you should be thankful I'm doing this for you" attitude.

But no, when someone tells you you're going too fast you talk down to them, in an impolite manner no less, telling them basically to go **** themselves as you just want to get this over with.

That's why I have that opinion.

I tell ppl to watch all the CS they want. The runs can be low manned really.

When my FC pugs for dungeons if needed, we never mind people watching cut scenes. Its not a big deal. And that includes speed runs, I'd rather show people the same courtesy I was given my first time.

when i ran CM the first time the only way i could find a group was thru the DF because all of the groups being formed were for speed runs. ironically enough the party it put me decided right from the start that it would be a speed run. did that change the way i played? nope i still watched my cutscenes, to hell with them if they can be bothered to wait 30 secs for someone to watch a cutscene, if they rush the boss and get themselves killed thats on them, if they get me locked out of the fight oh well ill go have a smoke break while they beat the boss, im getting my tomes either way.

basically what im saying is, if you get stuck in a group with a bunch of whiny asshats then let them go ahead and rush it, you will get credit either way.

Ruined the entire ending of the main story for me. I was completely and absolutely deprived of the true experience. They totally ruined the entire mood and atmosphere. Yet these same people had the nerve to talk down upon me (with profanity and other name-calling of course) when truthfully, they're the ones that are entirely in the wrong.

This CANNOT be allowed to continue. If it were up to me, I'd simply perma-ban people like this for polluting the community. However, I suggest that Duty Finder dungeon runs should simply force cut-scenes that can't be skipped. If they want to speed run the instance the burden should be placed upon them to find other like-minded individuals rather than ruining the experience for other people.

I agree with your sentiments but please do not suffer fools and use the leave button next time!
