Speed-running cut-scene skippers...

Honestly I could care less if people want to watch the cutscenes or not. Just don't be both tanks.

When I first got to the last two level 50 dungeons, the ones people are speed running, I didn't skip the cutscenes on CM and they finished it without me, and even if I had tried to skip them, they still would have left me behind because the cutscene chain with the final boss was still loading when the tank pulled the boss.

So for the final dungeon I just skipped the cutscenes and watched them later.

Anyone that uses DF for speedruns is an idiot. That is all there is to it...

I want to go fast so I am going to join a random group of players that may suck... maybe never even been there... might watch all CS just to troll... and on and on and on....

Really this is what it comes down to.

Speedrunning and using the DF, then expect random people to skip cut scenes and prepare themselves knowing all the fights before hand, is just...well...I won't repeat the word again.

It's like, oh, I wanna finish this project quickly so I'm just gonna randomly pull a few resumes out of that pile over there and I'm sure they'll be able to give me a nice speedy finish.

While I sympathize with both sides, Castrum Meridianum is still a Storyline dungeon. Because of this, I give the leeway to the people wanting to experience the story.

Why can't people just sit in their inn rooms and watch a full movie of all cutscenes without anyone interrupting you?

because if people can come up with a reason to bitch on the forums about something they will.
even if the thread has been posted 10x a week.

but when your in a 10 man group and everyone wants to get moving and one person keeps watching cut scenes it starts to get annoying and people will start to bitch because your holding everyone else up.

But seriously, I too think having 2 separate entries like that in the DF would be the most logical way to go.

Either that, or axe the tomes from the 2 story instances completely so speedrunners don't have a reason to run them anymore. Of course, this should go hand-in-hand with boosting the tome drops from WP and AK so the farmers don't get the dull point of the blade.

To be honest most of CM cut-scenes are turning off searchlights/being attacked by a gunship/intro generic boss number 3, which I wish didn't force you to go into movie mode to witness. Those things would be fine just having the game render them normally in my opinion as they are superfluous actions. Something like Prae however, with most of the cutscenes actually investing in the story and characters, are required if you want to really get the feeling of attacking the citadel of a invading force.

they should put a little window that plays the cutscene while you're still playing. like a picture-in-picture that allows you to view while you continue playing.

IF it was that bad then there are two things you can do to try to stop this behaviour:

1. Blacklist them.
2. Report them for 'Harassment' via the Support Desk.

The first one is easiest and best for things that aren't too bad, just that you can't be bothered to deal with them.

The second one is if you actually want SE to deal with this behaviour to make the game a nicer environment overall.

I'd suggest only using the second if it is completely out of hand and resorts to racism, xenophobia, homophobia or personal attacks that go beyond reason as put downs.

It doesn't matter if someone is running it for the 1000th time. They are breaking the ToS and it is your choice on how you wish it to be dealt with. You have in-game ways to deal with this issue. Posting here will not solve the issue as you need to report individuals. The entire community isn't like this, it just so happens that you've got the few bad eggs.

Ruined the entire ending of the main story for me. I was completely and absolutely deprived of the true experience. They totally ruined the entire mood and atmosphere. Yet these same people had the nerve to talk down upon me (with profanity and other name-calling of course) when truthfully, they're the ones that are entirely in the wrong.

This CANNOT be allowed to continue. If it were up to me, I'd simply perma-ban people like this for polluting the community. However, I suggest that Duty Finder dungeon runs should simply force cut-scenes that can't be skipped. If they want to speed run the instance the burden should be placed upon them to find other like-minded individuals rather than ruining the experience for other people.

Very much agree. My Castrum part of my story mode was ruined due to that reason. Fortunely I had an ok group that actually waited for me in the final dungeon (praetorium).

This is FF not WoW. Storymode should and will always have precedence over rushing in a FF game. And no, watching cutscenes in INN is not an acceptable solution for the first-timers; that's like watching cutscenes in FF6 without anything in between => the pacing get's off.

The truly hardcore already do premade speed-runs, and so should the rest that consider themselves to be "hardcore".
