so if it wasn't intended to be watched over more then once why is there a skip button? why not just only have the scene the very first time and never again?

option to watch again? but that goes against the thought of speed runs does it not? it proves it was intended for me to watch it as many times as i want be it 1 or 100, so what proves everyone who wants to force people to skip the cut-scene they are right? se has never stated that they should or shouldn't be skipped but to say they are supose to because there is a skip button is a pretty pathetic excuse to tell people to skip their scenes.

I think the problem is that there is no option for cutscenes/no cutscenes in the duty finder. I can pretty much guarentee that after the initial run you'll also want to skip the cutscenes and unfortunately you have to grind CM pretty hard for optimal tombstones of philosophy. I don't think forcing somebody to skip cutscenes is the right thing to do but I also don't think that the player who has done 30 cm runs and still needs 20+ more should be forced to party with people who do want to watch them. Additionally, I know it's a bit of a cop out but you can rewatch all the cutscenes in your innroom if you want to relive the experience that you feel you missed.

I'm at CM have been for over a week, I haven't done it because I want to watch CS, I don't want to get told I suck and what not. It's holding me back because the community for CM is so bad right now.

    Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!

Here's a tip for you. Open the duty finder and apply for CM.

Seriously, why are people here so carebearish? There are more than enough CM parties out there that don't give a damn if you watch cutscenes or not, yet because of an occasional thread on the forum people are not doing dungeons. Seriously some people. The fun part even is, the longer you wait, the less people will actually need to do it for the story and the amount of speedrunners just gets more and more. You're kinda shooting yourself in the foot here if you don't want to run it because "there might be meanie speedrunners!".

And after all that, even if you actually get a group that isn't okay with watching cutscenes, you can always just leave. Really what's the big deal? It's the party that suddenly only has one healer, you can just queue up again after 15 mins and get a new party. Then again, your signature says more than enough.

obviously the person that puts their need over that of the majority.

If someone doesn't want to party with a-holes like you, that makes them carebearish? He's fine to wait as long as he feels is fit. He doesn't deserve insults flung at him from you for going at his own pace.

And he's right the cm/endgame community is bad. I was going off about how duty finder groups aren't bad from my first dungeon up to lvl 50. How most people were generally nice. But the instant I do cm, the major a-holes come out. First cm run I do people given shit for watching cut scenes, they feel they need to ride the paladin the whole dungeon for not knowing it yet, give him shit for pulling mobs we didn't "need," a healer refusing to heal new people, locking people out of fights, etc. My first Praetorium run wasn't any better either. I had to leave.

Sorry for wanting a nice game experience.

I will always defend people in DF who want to watch the cutscenes. No one should ever grief you for wanting to enjoy the story, whether it be verbal or otherwise. That said, there is absolutely nothing you can 'physically' do about people who initiate battles while you are still in a CS. All you can do is hope people are nice. =/

SE is going to have to take a stand eventually... either make cutscenes unskippable, or force people to 'wait' while others are watching cutscenes in a similar way to the little circular 'forcefield' that appears in the beginning. Or they could make a queuing option for wanting to watch cutscenes or not... OR automatically put anyone close to the room inside the room where a boss fight occurs so they don't get 'locked out' while they watch the cutscenes... maybe the 'timer' to get into the room before it is locked off could be extended.

My two cents... If people want a 'speedrun', they should prebuild a group. It is not hard at all to make a SR group at all hours of the day/night just by shouting in Revenant's Toll. I've been speed-running Praetorium all day... There is no reason to be rude to other human beings, y'know?

Here is something to think about, the people that want to enjoy the CSs on their first run through CM or Prae. are likely only going to inconvenience two total groups, where as a speedrunner that uses DF is going to cause problems for who knows how many people doing it for the first time.

The pool of people wanting to experience the CSs will continuously shrink, while the speedrunner pool only grows. So if you actually take a little bit of time to slow down and help those first time people, you can actually build a better speedrunning community. Sometimes it helps to look a little farther out than 30m. As by actually letting them know what would be done in a speed run instead of expecting them to just pick it up from being left behind, will increase the number of good speeedrunners out there, but because people have not done this it has shown people they can AFK and get carried through the dungeon for free tomes. Not to mention how some treat the first timers may give them plenty of reason to troll other later speedrun groups.

So consider how speedrunning through the whole thing and not caring if the whole group is at bosses, and tearing into those that would like to watch the CSs has shaped the community for the endgame events.
