why does it matter that relics aren't necessarily difficult to get?

Not agreeing with the person you quoted...but it sounds like you believe it's not doable.

Just in case you thought it's not doable at all.
I can solo a turtle, its true... nerf something, anything or... yeh make it harder
Make pre-relic craft weapon and its mats untradeable.
To this point, people don't realize that Relic can be as time consuming or as easy as you make it out to be. If you buy your materia and crafted weapon, then yeah you don't really have to work for it. But if you take the time to get your own materials and own materia (The latter being something not even I chose to do, Materia Conversion is way too random) then you're looking at weeks unless you have the crafting/gathering levels from legacy.
Also +1 on this thread seems more like a massive ego stroking.
