you actually can get exp faster crafting at higher levels, but, due to the lack of crafting parties, and leve linking, it doesnt compete,
but if you do a craft thats like 8 levels higher than you, which is usually a pretty entertaining craft, even if you barely lose, you will get like 260 exp, and if you succeed you ll get anywhere from 700-900 exp for a craft that may have taken umm maybe a minute and change. I now, only do leves that are the highest available for that craft, because you can get like 1k+ on a good leve that level, and usually like at least 600+ on the easier ones.

but most people prefer easier crafts that they can spam standard and win most of the time, and get consistent exp with less failures and less attention.

I prefer harder crafts, more gamble more reward more difficulty.

that said, the it starts to get really hardcore with the tnls when you get high level. only people who really want to craft should take it up high.

crafting speed is fine when you consider you get 500+ sp if you are grinding the correct items for leveling. i bet you don't go out with battleclass and get 500 sp solo killing mobs that are only 5 ranks above you.

The best SP per hour, and best SP per gil, is actually just a little over 300 SP a synth on BS and GS. If you try to consistently synth over 400 sp per synth, you're just wasting effort, time, and materials.

Same fallacy fooled people into playing FFXI wrong for years--always trying to go for the 300 xp mobs, when they could have killed two 180 sp mobs in the same time.

i guess that's why i consistently grind on synths that get much more than than. right now at r45 wvr i am grinding woolen yarn into cloth at right at 600 sp. complete over 95%. my arm i grind iron celta visors. gets nearly 600 a synth and complete nearly every one of them. every craft has its easy and fast sp grind items.

per gil maybe, but not per hour. it probably depends on if you have a good, synth and the right books, but 300 is way to low, you could at least aim for 400 and those are usually super easy

Too slow? Not really, but it does take much longer to rank up than battle classes. However, if you compare ranking up a battle class solo and a crafting class, they are both about the same. It's the group bonus that makes ranking up battle classes faster. They are revamping the synthesis system, we'll have to wait and see if we can craft in group to have a party bonus there too. Same goes for gathering, haha (improve the animation frames to make it more natural swings and a party bonus).

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

I like it as is. I do not feel it is slow. Also you do not need to spam standered syth. You can use the others. SE wanted to make the craft and gathering classes feel like you doing something. Which is why they are mini games with realistic motions. Personally speaking it isn't a game flaw everyone here is so impatient. And yes I do craft. Play ffxi sometime to really see slow crafting. Today I got my botany class to 11 and my carpentry class to 6 almost 7 in roughly a few hours. I started the game as a archer which is still rank 5. Honestly I like watching the animations. Carpentry rabid syth as a lalafell is pretty hilarious.

Honest question, name one mmo where crafting isn't "tedious"?

hahah i thought this thread was about crafting in general, not levelling it. Levelling nowai its fast, can easily get it up in a short period, faster than DoW. But the system itself? I find slow. but thats not this thread.

Still isn't slow in my book with the animations. It feels realistic in a sence. I like watching my lalafell work. I got happy I somehow hq'ed 2 of my maple lumber syths in a row :P And the animation it does.

I think personally ppl dislike it because it isn't instant like WoW or ffxi or (instert mmo here) I like feeling I'm actually doing something. I personally think this is a personal grievence and if ppl dislike it can easily just not do it.
