I think this has been touched on before however I just wanted to make sure it was out there and being noticed and more compiled into one post.

You've made your character, you've sat for 5 min to hours trying to decide on all the aspects and finally settled on everything from top to bottom. You're totally stoked, you get on game and start playing, gain some levels, change jobs, get some new gear...and start to think...{Hmm} I don't like this hairstyle much, or maybe you start to notice that every other Miqo'te has the same hairstyle and color as you. Well...without making a new character you're stuck.

People evolve in the real world, we get haircuts, we grow our hair out, we dye it, we get tattoos etc. There are a few MMOs that have taken this into consideration whether through a "real world purchase" or simply in game quests or shops there are various games that allow you to modify your character after creation.

So here are some small suggestions that I don't really think would take too much work and with things like reset times and other various implements could be prevented from being abused.

1. Hair Color/Style - Pretty simple, have an NPC that let's you cycle through the same settings as you do when you start the game and change the style and the color, maybe one every real life week?

2. Skin Color - Say I'm a botanist and spend most my time chopping at trees, I started my character out as a glowing pasty white girl but now I've decided that the shine coming off my character as she swings her hatchet in Grinadia it's quite as appealing as it once was, now I have a tan. This could be implemented in two ways, one could be that you talk to the same NPC that allows you to change your hair and you can modify your skin tone as well, or perhaps (though this would be considerably more coding) the more time you spend outside in the sun the more your character changes.

3. Battle Scars/Tattoos - Whether you're a mage standing in the back occasionally getting slapped in the face by walnuts by a Marmet or a Gladiator being maimed by a Wolf you're going to get beaten. Why not have the option to show that off it you want? In the customization each character has a little "characteristic" that they can choose whether it be a line on the face, earrings, gems on the Lalafell's etc. This would be another aspect the NPC could add in the case of the gems or the "tattoos" and of course like the skin tone change there could be an option to have scars appear after certain battles maybe with NMs when they use a particular move.

4. Head Wear/Face Wear - This isn't exactly part of the character change however it does go with the aesthetics and I think needs to be looked into. My character currently is a conjurer and typically when I'm running around doing nothing I sport a shirt and pants and wear glasses, however when I swap to my Conjurer I either wear a cloak with a hood or maybe I wear a hat, why can I not wear my glasses at my hat? I can see how doubling up on those will give a large stat bonus but maybe gear could be implemented for just looks? In the real world we have glasses and contacts that correct our vision but there are also ones that are just for looks.
