The Levequest experiment

so, I've saved up 100 levequests.

in an attempt to see just how shitty the EXP from battlecraft levequests really are, i'll be burning through all 100 as fast as I can.

no fates, no other quests, no non-leve target kills.

i'll be doing it on a level 36 summoner with ~20k to go till 37 for ease.

I expect itll take me long enough to get 3 more leve allowances, maybe 6, depending on how bored I get, and if I need to eat/bathroom/stretch/etc.

i'll post just how far 103/106 levequests will take a combat class in terms of EXP.

if the forums will let me edit this post, ill update on this post, if they don't i'll just make a new post.

alright, so i'm 50 levequests down, and these are the results so far

I started at level 36 with approximately 20k to go to 37.

im now 154534 exp into level 38

total exp gained thus far: 422334

exp for completing a level 35 levequest @ +4 difficulty was 6762
exp for completing with a bounty kill was 7038
gotten dozens of pink items from spawned coffers.

34 baskets of fleece thus far, plus 6 baskets of HQ fleece
3 pudding flesh

started at around 148k gil, now at 199k, from completion gil + selling the grey items I got as turn in rewards

got 50 more to go. at this rate I should easily hit 40, possibly higher.
so far, not nearly as fast as fates, but I wasn't expecting it to be anyway, but its also not nearly as boring as sitting around waiting for a fate to spawn, run to it, dominate it in 2-3 minutes, then repeating the process.

will update after I knock out the remaining 50 leves

alrighty. all 100 battlecraft leves down

I stayed in coerthas highlands the entire time, at the observatory. doing level 35 leves at +4 difficulty

the exp from above is still accurate

the total amount of exp gained is : 910,724

final level: 31,824 exp into level 40

26 pink 'aetherial' items gained from treasure coffers

59 baskets of karakul fleece

9 HQ baskets of fleece

3 pudding flesh

1 HQ pudding flesh

final gil tally: 220k, only including selling grey reward items and turn-in amount

so, 900k EXP for almost 8 hours of work.

8 hours of fates and I would have been 45 at minimum

it took me almost 8 hours to complete all 100 leves.

the average completion time per leve was about 4 minutes.


I think the biggest problems with levequest EXP is that it doesn't benefit from armory bonus.

if they did, they'd be a viable alternative to fate grinding

Has anyone tried doing these Guildleves in a party instead and seeing how well they fared?

Fate grinding just gets old after a bit....it can be fun with a group. I prefer to mix Fate and Leves.

Besides, why is there such a mad dash to hit 50?

You can get more out of levequests by upping the difficulty or unlocking the next rank above you and doing those instead (like running level 40 leves on normal difficulty at 35). There's lots of benefits to levequests, for one they let you actually learn how to play by having an obstacle you actually need to over come instead of running around like a gimp spamming flash and letting other people do the work for you (a.k.a: FATE).
Depends on your play style, I did a mix of both, and sure it took me longer to get my summoner/scholar to 50, but I had more fun doing both .
