SE plz make me a button to remove choices from me
Please explain that.
Why would something "remove choices", when it's just a button that you can CHOOSE not to?
if anything, it'll ADD choices.
Perhaps a "sort by item level" button would be more useful, without removing the fun of optimizing gear. Picking gear, and hence customizing your character, is a big part of RPG gameplay, if I'm not mistaken.
well, if you WANT to do it manually, nothing would stop you.
this would jsut be a feature for us, people who don't find it fun to go through 10-15 pieces of gear for each slot to choose what to wear... for EVERY CLASS you have EVERY TIME you level up.
Why don't we just add an auto-battle button while we're at it? It can be so cumbersome to learn new rotations on 10 different classes. I'd like the game to always just do what is optimal for me.
trolls gonna be trolls.
So, anyone else with meaninful thoughts?
I think it would be a nice feature. If you're on WHM, it could optimize for healing. If you're on PLD, it could optimize for HP/Def. Etc.
The coming sort features should help with this a lot, though. Hopefully we can do stuff like put items I can wear first and sort by iLevel descending, which should put the best thing you can wear in the first slot.
That get fixed with 2.1
But it is called "sort" button, not "optimize" button.
You would can sort for ilevel so you find that equip with the highest ilevel.
I hope that we can also sort for other stats, so I can as example find the equip with the highest crit rate.
It would choose for you
This would confuse lot more

why not fix the set equip first! having several jobs going and you happen to make room by removing what should be a unused piece can and does disable entire sets from being equipped.
"set has one or more pieces missing" so wont equip anything in fact the entire set is now useless. why not equip all the pieces that are there and leave the missing slots blank so we know what was missing and which slots to replace and update the set.
Gearsets. That is all. Pick your best and update your gearset. Then if you have multiple per class (why?) you can just name them. I think if people actually used gear sets every time, all the time and they added sorting by item level then alphabetically inside those, all issues would be solved inventory-wise.OK, I really don't know if someone already brought this up, but I've been thinking lately and noticed the armory chest and your worn equipment can be really cumbersome to manage, specially when you have multiple classes with different levels which you end up having multiple equipment sets for.
Now, one thing that's present in almost every Final Fantasy game out there which would be really beneficial to this game, is the fabled OPTIMIZE EQUIPMENT button. You just press it, and you automatically wear the "best" gear you can wear from your inventory. Now, in FFXIV specifically, that could be configurable, you could choose 1 or 2 attributes you'd want to base that priority on (say, defense and vitality, or mind and piety). Then you woulnd't need to worry about mousing over every piece of chest you have in your armoury chest every time you level up a class to figure out if you/to what you want to change your worn gear. You could just hit the optmize button and the algorithm would exchange your gear. Then you could save your gear set, of course that doesn't mean we'd get rid of gear sets. It'd be just a tool to help us organize that kind of stuff.
You know... like you can in almost every Final Fantasy game there is.
Well, thoughts?
