Question about server transfer restrictions

Which right there is why they should just leave it as is. Because people are going to complain no matter what. Before early access even started, they said they were planning to do world transfers within a month, but that the legacy wouldn't be happening for at least 6 months..

I never saw that anywhere nor did i look for it to be honest.

I've never done research on a game before playing it. Well sure i normally check what it is like on youtube and read comments here and there and normally check the main website of the game.

Then again when i did roll a character all servers were locked but 1 and that one was a legacy, which again i had no idea what legacy event meant. I didn't know how long to wait for until they unlocked the servers, that was like shooting in the dark... But anyhow that's all done with now.

Apart from that, i would have to agree with everything else you said.

So I went looking for a valid source to point it out to you (just so you didn't think I was making it up or something), and I am actually having a bit of trouble finding it. One of the main places it was at previously, was over on the Mog Station. But since they have now updated that page to actually handle the world transfers, it simply references the news article that explains how the transfers work... If I can find it I will.

Honestly, I only knew about it myself, since I actually started on Sargatanas (still have my level 19 sitting there), and we (my friend and I) had to make the very real decision to stay here or start over, since we had two different groups of people we were debating on playing with. Ultimately it came down to us rerolling and then we were just going to pay for our 3rd wheel (the guy who is still on Sargatanas, since he had a level 50... like... everything) to transfer over when they finally open it up. That was when I found that it would be restricted for like 6 months.

Again, I am sorry that you feel stranded, but there are some very great communities on those legacy servers. The LS that our friend is in over on Sargatanas was part of the group that downed the "unbeatable" stuff from way back in the FFXI days. Order of the Blue Garter is also on one of those servers (don't remember which) as well. And if you do have friends that you really want to play with (and they really want to play with you... I think that is the big key here) then they should be willing to move over. The only reason things happened the way it did for us, we were never expecting them to have "free transfers" or that might have factored into our original decision process.

This is exactly what happened to me.

And you can't tell me that people who started at the same time as me can't transfer for economy or level reasons.
