Question about server transfer restrictions

In WoW when server transfers first came it took around a day for the transfer to work. Now days its less than an hour.

If it takes more than a day here, the service is abysmal.

Except that, like others have been pointing out, there is most likely going to be thousands of transfers to get through. Now, there may well be less, and then it will be faster, but also when WoW introduced it, it was not free. There will be people taking advantage of this just because they can. You know people are free stuff.

With the introduction of the World Transfer Service, there may be cases where players are requested to transfer to other Worlds due to fluctuations in population. We may also consider the splitting or merger of Worlds. Because of this, there may be instances where players who have used the World Transfer Service are requested to move to a different World. Please note that in such cases, applications for World transfers cannot be canceled or refunded.

What happen if I want to transfer from crowded world to medium populated world and somehow the destination world become unavailable because of population fluctuation.

Can I go back to my previous server ? Or I will asked to choose another world because my previous world already crowded and probably not available as destination ?

I wasn't able to select the server of my choice when I created my character (I did try clicking on Shiva but it wouldn't select) and as such just went with the default selected server of Durandal, which just happens to be a legacy server.

My question is simple, am I trapped on this server (or another legacy server) because I was not able to select the server I wanted even though I only started playing after 2.0 was released?

Yes, you can only go from legacy to legacy.

Even though you had no choice at default. Many of us are in stuck in that situation with SE not offering any solutions at the moment..

I am so glad I waited for 2.0. Early last year I was debating if I should make a 1.0 account to get legacy. Now I am happy that I didnt

I have to agree with you on this one. We get shit on for sticking by the game while it was trash and now we get punished for that. All I know is I am done playing and most likely will cancel my subscription to the game. I just think the whole economy thing is a bunch of bull shit there are people on non legacy servers that have just as much gill as i do and alot that have more then me.

this sucks. as i accidently transfered a 1.0 mule to the wrong server because i forgot to check retainers before i transfered it so now i can not transfer to the correct server 4 free because of creation limit thats crap.

Has anything been mentioned about the wait time involved between transfers? If someone pays for one transfer, how long until they can pay for another? Is it immediate, a few days, a few months, etc?

XI was something like 3 months, which was absolutely horrible.
