Character transfer limit?

I'm not sure if this is a viable option, but can't you just create a character with the same name on the server you want? Then it would force a name change on the one transferring.

I want to end up on the server I'm already on, but with a different name. At this point in time, this will require 2 transfers back-to-back. This name is already in use on many servers, likely due to it being on the auto-generate list. I believe my last search on the lodestone returned 20 servers with this name, but can't verify due to Lodestone maintenance. Regardless, I shouldn't have to make a new character before transferring due to the popularity of this name

Thanks for the reply, but I already read through that page several times before posting my question. I always research an issue intensively before asking directly for help. Doing this takes more time, but it does reduce my impact on the support system. That page does not state if there will be a restriction on how many times the same character can be transferred. It also does not state if transferring for a name change, and then immediately transferring back, is an acceptable way to force a name change. Basically, the page you referred me to does not answer my questions. Why just refer me to information that does not help? Is this just another way to indirectly tell me to "We have no idea" yet again?

It does answer your question, before you get snippy with the guy trying to help you look a little harder, took me less than a minute to find it.

Step 3: Apply for a World Transfer
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the World transfer process. Please also bear in mind the following before submitting your application:

Subscription Type Restrictions
Accounts with entry subscriptions are only allowed one character per World; therefore, for these accounts, characters cannot be transferred to a World on which a character is already present. With a standard subscription, players are allowed up to eight characters on a single World.

Characters with the Same Name
In the event the name of your character has already been chosen by another character on the destination World, you will be required to change your character's name when logging in for the first time.

Although it is possible to confirm the availability of your character's name when submitting your application, multiple applications bearing characters with the same name may necessitate the renaming of your character, depending on the order in which the applications are processed.
