Ditto.
Currently I'm just going to be passively aggressive about this until transfers become live. If it doesn't work by then, then there will be an issue.
Hail Il Palazzo!
I just addressed the issue. I went into the folder described, program files (x86) -> SquareEnix -> FFXIV's folder -> boot, then I went into the properties for each one in turn. I enabled "Run this program as Administrator" at the bottom of the compatibility tab. That resolved the issue.

Yeah, I did it, still didn't work. I disabled UAC after that and still a no go. I also followed the steps here [clicky] and still nothing.
seems very fiddly to me for a simple patch. I'll keep going until I get it working though.
The only other thing I did was set the boot program's user permissions to be the same as the administrator. The checkbox should have superseded that, so I'm sorry what worked for me did not work for you and the other case. I have had games where I had to set the permissions of all the folders (and subfolders) to allow all types of access for mods. That shouldn't be the case here as well, you'd be running as an administrator on all four of the programs in the folder.Yeah, I did it, still didn't work. I disabled UAC after that and still a no go. Edit: I just checked that link, and that has to do with the ability to download files. That wouldn't cover this. This error looks to be more about permissions or simply the ability to alter files on the computer. It is a bad practice to have two different causes for the same error and I doubt they did that.

Hail Il Palazzo!
Thank you so much for your help. I got it working finally. I had to go to Documents—>My Games—>Downloads From there I deleted the ffxivpatch folder. Relaunched and it worked. The only other thing I did was set the boot program's user permissions to be the same as the administrator.
