Er, which 'people'? As I read forums, players in XI are heartily sick of the 'proccing' system and its cancerous spread to content outside Abysea.
So in order to get an Aldgoat horn u still need to brek it?
I thought they abolsihed that feature in some patch a while back.
Yep still have to break it, or easier just to local leve's and they reward you 2 normally and if you have high points after completion they reward you more...
I was leveling Pugilist to 16 for BLM and this was my first time with a melee [non mage] class in xiv. I did not know of the term 'incap' but I had read the patch notes and also with each new skill I got, I read what the info said on my popup help about "use in front of target for stun" or "left side for this effect" and it was hard at first, kind of figured I had my targeting mode wrong. I began thinking that the ability to target specific body parts was not meant for use while solo but for parties on big mobs where you could actually go around the mob while others had hate.
But then I realized that I had managed to pull it off after going back to read my log. I recall how excited I was when I finally got it right against those lvl 13-16 hatching Pucks in La Noscea. I had a big enough number of the same mob to keep trying it and reason to stick around because I needed to get to lvl 16, was tired of going back and forth for levees.
The hardest was trying to get to the right or left of a little puck and getting behind it before he flipped around to follow. I also did "sneak attack" style from behind attempts but instead, I preferred going behind the mob during the fight because I did not always have enough TP at the beginning of the fight to use other body part targeting moves.
Instead of maneuvering 'around' the mob I just rushed forward, essentially going 'through' the mob, pressed 'H' to auto target ['H' targeting I had learned for mage after patch notes suggested it], which immediately switched me around quick enough to execute the move behind the mob before he turned around to face me.
Overall, considering it was my first time playing a non mage class, I did figure it out pretty quick.
My only complaints, criticism is that it would be nice to see something besides having to read the log constantly to see if your "incap" worked. It was one of the more difficult things. I would wait till after the fight to read the logs, not that useful if you need to know during the fight. I like the OP idea of something visual on the mob.
oh and OP, I immediately thought of the black knight scene from Monty Python. "It's just a flesh wound!" :P
Strix: "Behold this collection of grimoires of legend! Feel their power and puissance, and let it fill you with rapturous pleasure...then DIE!"
