    Please Buff Dungeons/Nerf Fates

As title says buffing dungeons with more exp gained will force players to do more dungeons and learn to collaborate more; not to mention be better geared. I am currently trying to level from 47 to 50 and it has become mind-numbing to follow one Fate herd/zerg after another. However, what choice do we really have? The hour I spent in a dungeon last night gained about the same experience as 2 Fates.

What they really should do is have more actual quests to do instead of just forcing people to grind dull things. It annoyed me that there are massive level gaps in story quests. It's just lazy.

Dungeons could have a lot more going for them not only in XP but in Gil gain too. There are just few reasons to run dungeons even at endgame apart from endless gear grind for the sake of it.

I agree with buffing dungeons, but not nerfing Fates. Fates are almost the only option for DPS to get EXP in a reasonable manner. It would be unfair to expect them to do dungeons for EXP.

As a tank it was easy to grind dungeons for exp and gear in a timley manner. The same can not be said for dps players though. I would assume healers can use dungeons just as well as tanks.

I would agree that dungeon exp should be buffed to make it more worth the time for dps to participate in them as well as everyone.

I think fates should remain untouched and a viable option though.

The reason DPS Q's are so long is because of the fates being so much better exp. Why Q for dungeons when you can spend run to the top in a fate group? If dungeon exp was increased and fates decreased I can assure you the Q's would be much much faster since all the tanks and heals would be Q'ing instead of mindlessly following the herd

I agree with the thread. I love doing dungeons much more than Fates because of the working-together aspect of it. It's a bit more of a challenge and just generally more interesting. It also promotes and develops good party play/synergy too. If the queues were instantaneous for DPS like they are with tanks, I'd be in dungeons all the time, even if at the moment it's overall less xp (though I guess that might actually depend on rested-xp bonus - say, if you could only play an hour or two a night, thus being able to make good use of that bonus).

Just for reference, how much experience going from fate for each party member?

I agree with this. In the 30-35 range, for instance, you can gain a level in an hour by grinding fates. Plus company seals, which you could use to buy company gear - which I'm guessing is on par with dungeon loot.

At best, you can probably do 1 and a 1/2 dungeons during that time, if you don't have to wait in the duty finder. During which, you will definitely not gain a level, and while you may get a couple loot drops, you have the same chance of not getting any.

So yea, make dungeons more rewarding.

I hear your request, understand it would help send people to the dungeons where we should really be.

But let me give you one reason not to change anything (it is going to involve some background):

When I started playing FFXIV, I could not wait to get into the dungeons. They were fun. I even thought it was cool that SE forced the story through some dungeons. This forces us to work as a team instead of giving the player the option of soloing the main story. I thought this was cool because it made it so that we would build a community of support and trust within the game.

But the past few weeks, I have been crippled with lag. I could point fingers to the cause of the lag (and I have), but the fact remains that my game is severely broken.

Half the time I am in a dungeon, I cannot see the physical location of one or more of my fellow players. Sometimes I cannot see the boss. I am a tank, I need to be able to see.

    (continued next...)

Because of this, I have shied away from content that requires group participation to achieve the goal. So I cannot advance the main story. However I still want to play. This leaves FATEs. While I suffer the same issues with FATEs as I do in dungeons, my failure in a FATE does not hinder the success of the others participating in the FATE.

Since I have exhausted the sidequests and I cannot advance my story quests, the only way for my war and magic classes to advance are through FATEs. If you nerf the FATEs you remove my ability to advance and remove what little enjoyment I still have of this game.

SE is silent on any fix for the lag. They point the fingers at others. Half the people on Lodestone are of the mindset of "not my problem" or "this isn't happening to me" so I will cry to SE to give me side saddle for my cat.

So until all of us can fully participate in the game, I ask that FATEs remain the same.

    Thanks for your time,

    Masha
