If you look at marauder potency numbers, they are EXTREMELY high.
Add in multiple cross class cooldowns, and they should play like a positionless Dragoon with slightly lower potency attacks.
Huh, marauder, havent thought about this. Ok, lets just theorycraft a little bit.
Now, we have this marauder, he cant use relic+1, but lets say he has titan axe, DoW 2 star crafted armor full of materia and capped a lot of stats, and DPS access.
Maim 20% damage buff
berserk, 50% damage buff
raging strike, 20% damage buff
blood for blood, 20% damage buff
Then, we have storms eye, -10% slashing resistance, which should be another 10% damage buff?
aaaand internal release
The attack power should shoot to the roof, but how does this compare to a real melee dps?
lets say you have 400 str, which is 400attack power (i took this number cause my drg friend has 450)
400*1.2*1.2*1.5*1.1=950.4
950 attack power. This is probably not as cool in practice, but still, that burst.

It beats any other DPS class during the temporary cooldowns (Berserk + RS + BFB), except possibly a BLM during only Astral Fire stance with cooldowns, but it's weaker at other times.
That burst is substantial, I know when I was tanking AK speedrun, on the wall with my dps gear setup (garuda axe, DRG Ak pieces and DL STR accys) I had a few 900 crits as a warrior, but the key about that is that it's a burst, not sustained. Overall sustained dps is still solid, but again, as I said, even if we had all the tools a pure dps class has, our limit would be the amount of aggro some of our skills will give (which are our hardest hitting skills like butcher block) and we'd have to hold back our dps/burst so that we don't overtake aggro.
Overall, it's a nice option for warriors, but it won't compare in the overall numbers to other melee classes.
I beat Titan with a dps warrior in our group. Was a DF group as well, only the MT and healer knew each other.
Yes, one small thing. The crystal that you equip that gives you your job, whatever it may be, actually has hidden stats on it, not mentioned on the tooltip. Thus you'll notice stat increases when you equip a job for any class.

400 + 400*.2 + 400*.2 + 400*.5 + 400*.1 = 800
Not quite as high but still double the attack power. however, it won't last very long and you're gimped for those 5 seconds after berserk which makes it even worse.
I really wish Warrior/Marauder had more DPS options because I'd really like to play then as DPS.
2 things about the recent topic:
20% damage and 20% str are not the same thing. berserk's 50% attack power is basically 50% more str though
2nd off, a whitemage/scholar can cleanse off the debuff from berserk. my marauder friend doesnt miss a GCD from it because our healer is pro
