    Leatherworking leveling dilemma

I'm trying to level my first DoH, Leatherworking.

However I'm starting to hit a wall. Right now I'm at level 35 leatherworking.
My leve allowances are down to like 6 left, so i wont be able to spam leves. i couldnt make any HQ, and i dont know any level 50 leatherworkers that i trust to make HQ for me let alone i don't want to be an annoyance, so i've been doing NQ because i cant for the life of me make HQ very often. even trying to make items for the lower level 3x leve quests i cant seem to make many HQ items, and people dont seem to be really selling any on the market which is surprising cause youd think high level crafters would sell a bunch of low HQ items needed for 3x leves.

Basically, level 35, running out of leve allowances, and I'm running out gil. my only other option would be to complete the log (i have toadskin and boarskin stuff that i havent completed) and hope it levels me far enough to unlock the next log or something. but im starting to run out gil to do so. I've even been buying the engineering manual to boost crafting by 50% from the grand company.

what do i do? just stop leveling leatherworking and farm for bit and do other stuff for now?

currently im trying to get alchemy to 15 to unlock a skill that could help me reach HQ more often. its at level 10 right now, but to level that i dont want to use up my limited leve allowances and ive completed each craft in the logs already which leaves me with no choice but to buy a lot items and spam crafting, which im beginning to run low on gil.

    So what is your problem?
Leveling crafts wasnt designed to be instant lvl 50 so don't expect it to be. Farm your own materials so that way it doesn't cost you a lot of gil. Else suck it up, if you've crafted in ffxi you would know what low lvling really means.

Best option lv all DoH to 15 cross class skills help with HA. You will earn a ton of shards and some decent gil. also keep your gear close to lv, and don't waste leeve on NQ

Do not use any leves on crafts under 20. And then, only if you can make the level 20 triple leve all HQ when you hand in - you might need to wait for 25 for some crafts.

Get ALL of your crafts to 15, at a bare minimum. You want the cross class skills. Stuff at that low level is fairly cheap, though if gil is an issue take up mining and botany to help provide materials.

You can basically do 1-15 or 1-20 just there at each craft's guild hall, just buying materials as you need them and making stuff in the crafting log. If you should, somehow, finish everything in the log without getting to level 15, then start making either staples that you will eat/drink (culinary, alchemy) or base level materials (ingots, leathers, lumber).

Any recommendations of anything I could craft (below level 35) and then resell that would sell decently fast to make some gil back?
I suppose farming and level 15 cross class skills are my best bet in this rut. I'll stop with the leve quests for now, it's just that im not able to craft HQ items, i can usually get to like a 8-10% chance, maybe even 20 if im lucky. and no one really seems to sell that many HQs for some reason.

Take some time to level all DoH to at the least 15. The cross-class skills are amazing, and not doing so will criple your HQ % to nearly nothing. You should be able to HQ your own items pretty easily in doing this.

As a lvl 50 LTW, avoid doing the lvl 35 leves, just spam the lvl 30 one with the goat choker, it's easier to hq then the Boar choker and less expensive. And get a blacksmith up to the point you can make steel ingots for the lvl 40 leves, idk the price on your server but they are pricey on mine. And try keeping boar leather usages for the 3x leves only.

Eh, I just did Boarskin Chokers to go from 35 to 40 today. Now, Leatherworker was my last crafting class to make the run from 30 to 40, so I had all the other cross class skills (excepting the level 50 ones), but even so, it was fairly easy to HQ the things, from entirely NQ materials.

It did not hurt that most of the triple leves I did there in the Observatory place in Coerthas were giving Boar Skins. So, I only had to scrounge up enough Hippogryph Sinew from the market boards before going there to craft. I did not use nearly as many as I'd expected to, either - bought 57 (three extra, just in case) and only used 27. Although I did not 100% each one, I did HQ each one.

I came out with more boar skin than I went in there with, too - each set of 3 net me 8 total new skins (11 total new, but counting the 3 used for the chokers) effectively giving me not only replacement skins, but 24 new skins each time, per leve allowance.

I would check your market....If I'm trying to make gil I check my market for things I can make and make sure there isn't a mass supply of something before making it....I know it's a PITA but unless you wanna make something that doesn't sell right away it's probably the best to do. On Leviathan is seems gathering gear sells rather fast and it's not made often HQ.

I would do what most these other players are saying and level other DoH classes to 15 to get their cross classes...

Also when you start new DoH classes you can use Waste Not in the cross classes right away and I would if I were you, makes leveling other classes faster

Maybe join a FC and find players to swap mats with, I'm not in a FC but a couple close friends also play and we've got every class being played right now and we always swap shards and mats with each other. We also get in farming groups and you can farm base mats pretty quickly with just two guys

What i did for ltw was just jump between turning the various tiers of skins into leather. Having a lv50 DRG made this easy, and farming with a friend or two really speeds up the drop rate. For money I sold the leather I would make in small stacks of 5~10 and don't flood the market.

since you are low on leves I recommend saving yours for 40+ unless you get another of them stockpile
