DoL/DoH > Good path for everything to lv50?

    Hello,

I find some class specific guide but nothing that could help making a nice path to get everything to lv50 in the end.

With cross class, should I level everything to 15 first then take something to 50?
Is there some class that have no connection to the other and therefore are not so useful to take a few other class to 50?

I am Scholar as a main and I would like to start making food/equipment/potion for myself and my FC but no idea where to start and how to level up and what to level up.

Starting from scratch, what would be the most coherent path?

I know it will take time but I guess I am in game for the long run anyway so i just want to start going.
If you have advice to level up smart (like get the best cross-skills, using less money as possible...) that would be fantastic

    Thanks

If you're looking to start making Food/potions (not as much equipment unless you want Carpentry) I'd highly suggest botanist for the first of the gathering classes. It'll supply some for Culinary, Alchemist, Carpenters, Weavers and Leatherworkers to a minor degree.

And would you do all of them in same time or would you take one up first?
I am trying to make a leveling path so I can go steadily

Level them all to 15 because a lot of them have good level 15 ability then start working on classes to 50

Depends a lot on what and how much you want to do. Trying to save up mats for crafting later is bad idea due to not having enough storage space between yourself and 2 retainers. The first 20 levels of any DoH class is quick and easy. Do the class quests every 5 levels and try to make one of each item for the nice EXP bonus for first time completion. Now after that you can concentrate on triple turn in leves, thus leaving you needing only certain materials. Even if you are not banging out HQ's for them, you'll level faster than simply grinding it out.

Time is money for most, so if you can afford the low cost NPC/Market Board materials it'll save you time versus farming them up.

Levelling everything to around 15~20 will get you started.

Alchemy 17(?) has Tricks of the Trade
Culinarian 37(?) has a good ability (Steady Hand II)

I personally think Blacksmith, Carpenter, Alchemist, Weaver and Goldsmith have very good level 50 cross-craft abilities so you might want to look into one/all of those.

    It's level 15 and 37.

    Thank you
I will try to get everything to 15 first then level up to 50 things that could be needed for SCH like culinarian and alchemist I guess

Can't say if it's perfect, but I get HQ on finished 50-star items using normal materials almost 100% of the time, so here you go, this is what I would suggest.
    • ALC15 for Tricks of the Trade. Recovers 20 CP on red orb / Good status. I use this all the time.
    • WVR15 for Careful Synthesis.
    • CRP15 for Rumination.
    • GSM15 for Manipulation. Decent for durability recovery.
    • CUL15 for Hasty Hand. 50% success rate, so near useless by itself. Use with Steady Hand.
    • CUL37 for Steady Hand II. Use this before Hasty Hand attempts instead of Steady Hand.
    • ALC50 for Comfort Zone. Gives you more CP than you expend and some room to work with Tricks of the Trade.
    • CRP50 for Byregot's Blessing. This is your finisher, so to speak. Combine it with Great Strides and Steady Hand / Steady Hand II. Absolutely no Rumination.
    • WVR50 for Careful Synthesis II. Completely replaces Careful Synthesis.
    • GSM50 for Innovation. Arguably better than Observe, and useful for killing another turn hoping for Good/Excellent for Byregot's Blessing.
    • BSM50 for Ingenuity II. Use this when boosting quality or progress for 50-star recipes. You may want to withhold using this skill at the start in order to build Inner Quiet up while avoiding killing your CP.
    • Whatever you feel like from this point on.

You may opt to make some variations here or there. Most of my crafting classes were already up there come version 2, so I'm not certain how well this track would work in practice.

I think the cheapest and most generally convenient method of levelling all crafting classes up (if, indeed, you do want all of them levelled in the end) is to do them all in parallel. That's what I did back in 1.xx and it worked fabulously. Because progression in gear is so universally tiered, you're likely to need the vast majority of any one material at a specific level range across all classes that use it at once. Ultimately, I'd also recommend levelling up BTN and MIN at the same time as you'll be gathering things in the same rough order that the crafting classes will need them, and you'll need to gather tonnes of shards too.

As for classes to start with however, despite my parallel suggestion I also suggest keeping WVR and LTW slightly (maybe 2-3 levels) ahead of all the others for the ability to make HQ crafting and gathering gear, thus making your crafting and gathering of other things significantly easier. The same can be said of tools from BSM but to a lesser degree I think. I tried to keep everything within a roughly 5 level range of each other though, thus getting the maximum benefit of cross class materials and not losing exp when you have to go back and craft the low level intermediary items for some class that got left behind.

It's also very important to push up the quality rating whenever possible. You'll get much more exp while using far fewer materials. It's also good practice thinking about how to get the most out of the durability available to you while pushing up the quality and maintaining the relative safety of the overall synth, things that are all very important regardless of whether you're levelling up or trying to HQ that elusive level 50 double star item.
