    Vote to kick

    This has been discussed over and over again, and I will be yet another person in a long line of people that ask when this is coming. Keyword there is when, not if.

    It's starting to become an issue where people are queuing for CM/AK and just afking. I noticed it before but now it's really starting to become a very noticeable issue. Most times it's with the 2nd tank on CM since some groups will just run it anyways without the 2nd tank, thus allowing that afk person to still get his/her tomes.

    In AK the only thing you can do is draw straws at who will get the 15 min debuff (usually I volunteer since I'm a tank) and just drop out. Sadly because there are people out there that absolutely love to make others mad this will continue to be a problem and will most likely get worse until something is done about it.

    The problem with a vote to kick is that there are so many elitists in the game now that people will start getting kicked for not being geared enough or know the fights. I don't like the AFK thing either but I would rather have an AFKer than have folks just trying to gear up and learn fights getting kicked because elitists want to face roll CM for tomes.

    That's why it is vote to kick and not just "kick". If all of the other members in your party feel you need the boot, then it is likely true that you are holding them back in some way. If the entire party is an elitist group, do you want to be stuck with them anyway, or are you mad that they won't carry you?

    P.S., I'm not by any means defending elitist attitudes, but I do feel that people are too quick to judge without gauging their own worth in a group first.

    I can carry myself thanks but I also like to give people a chance to learn. If you just kick them then how are they to learn and improve?

    Too many people forget that they had to learn the fights too and they needed to gear up. I don't mind helping folks out by giving them a chance to get the experience they need to grow into a better player.

    If I get in a group with three people who are overly confrontational and want to do things "their way" even if it's stupidly inefficient, I'm fine with them vote kicking me. They get rid of "their problem," I get rid of my problem with them, and no one is left with a 15 minute quit penalty. AFKers, people who try to wipe primals, people who are vastly undergeared for the content, people who don't know how to perform their job, etc., are valid reasons for a vote kick. There needs to be care implementing it to make sure you can't kick during boss fights, right after them, in combat, when the dungeon is finished, or when there is loot in the pool, etc.

    The positive way to abuse this I can see is if a group has come to the consensus that they can't complete the content (Titan HM for example), someone needs to leave. Someone can volunteer to be vote kicked, and everyone wins. Quit penalty is bypassed, and the other people can leave afterwards with no one getting penalized for a group decision to give up.

    Auto-disconnect when no action for several minutes(and kicked by dungeon system) also works fine, actually.
    Just let the open world rules applied inside dungeons.

    That's almost a good idea, but they could just run a macro like below.

    /wait 300

    This should have been implemented anyways... People still don't want to log off servers so now they hide in dungeons... You make a system they will find a way to buck it... I think dungeon AFK should be max 10 minutes, I would prefer 5 minutes with an auto lock so that you cant enter a dungeon for 24 hours...

    Theres no macro's that make a character move so make the boot system movement based

    The problem with an afk kick is what if someone is legitimately afk and the rest of the party is fine with it. The main negative way a vote kick can be abused is kicking people after they've already contributed to the group, so I'd just set it up so the vote kick can only be initiated within the first 10 minutes. Sure you could be vote kicked out after the first boss of AK but the chances of getting past wall within 10 minutes are incredibly low.

    So what'll happen is a group will wipe on psychflayer, blame someone for it, kick them and try again with someone new. With the current system the group wipes on psyche, someone gets blamed, that person gets belligerent and refuses to continue but is quite content at just afking until people leave. Someone then decides to leave, that person gets the 15 min debuff, the other two most likely also leave as well and the last person, the one that threw the hissyfit gets to then try the fight again with no penalty with a new group.
