Enmity is a product of your damage. More damage, more enmity. Damaging abilities that generate additional enmity + better damage from a better sword = more enmity. This happened to me quite often at endgame dungeons, rarely at earlier dungeons. Even at a boss. Does enmity have anything to do with your weapon level / damage as well? Yesterday, I kept losing hate to a bard with Ifrit weapon, while I had only Aeolian Scimitar.
I wonder why Fast Blade does not have enmity generation.
AOE Tanking and Chain Pulling - Dungeon crawling through AK. Tank 8+ mobs, mention halone splitting which is not found in this guide, as well as resource management.I just got pld and did a AK run today with average lvl 60 gear. Im a really new tank, i feel like really hard to keep multi target hate
Second and third mob either keep running to healer, or when i try to rotate comb on them, first mob run to dd,![]()
Can any exp tank post their best way to tank multi target, help out a new tank please!!!!!!
Thank u all

I have approximate knowledge of many things.
Sometimes you will also have a WHM that pulls a ton of enmity from over-heals, and two very good DPS classes that don't manage enmity perfectly. I like this simple combo, a Variation of what some others have been saying. Also I just wanted to note that there is a 1.5s internal cooldown timer on EVERYTHING (even off-GCD stuff), so popping 2 off-GCD abilities in a row is kind of a waste. You could slot in a more powerful GCD abilities between them to maximize efficiency, as such:
Flash (GCD Invoked, 1)
Circle of Scorn
Flash (GCD Invoked, 2)
Spirits Within T1
Flash (GCD Invoked, 3)
Fast Blade T1 (GCD Invoked, 4)
Apply Enmity as needed.
I start off almost every fight I can with that combo, as it is a generous enmity lead on all targets within 3 GCDs
Lol i love it Tank strats huh. gues ill throw mine in 2 lol. Well mines similar 2 the others. i start by running to the center of the mob n flash once or twice. u wanna try n get em all with flash so the emnity stays somewhat even between the targets. then usually its common knowledge certain enemies come first especially in ak. ill hit the first enemy with FB thn switch to the second for SB n back to the first for ROH. then hit the first with FB 2nd SB n 3rd ROH. n repeat while constantly cycling targets checking emnity. tho a few variables always come into play. things like classes in the group. enemy types n player slip ups like aggroing 6 or 7 enemies lol.

4 the first variable if u find yourself in a party with 2 bards youll find they grab a TON of emnity. if u feel overwhelmed there r solutions. 1. ask them 2 plz attack the same target. with their aoe's n attacking the different targets things can get out of hand quickly ( this applies 2 all grps bards r just my example ). 2. at the beggining of ak u run into 3 grps that have a summoner. he's usually 1st priority witch means he gets dropped fast. u should run flash the grp stun the summoner thn leave him to the dps. this gives u time 2 get at least 1 combo on each of the othertargets building emnity.
Working Hard to stay on top^_^
3. sometimes mistakes happen n u pull more targets thn your use 2 dealing with n ypur looking at a wipe. this is wen u test your tanking metal. u get in the middle of em n spam flash 4 or more times then cycle thru n find who ur dps is after n get a good combo n a half in. your healers gnna be getting emnity so keep cycling thru n keep em in check. n forget rampart here its not enough go str8 to sentinel. wen u see a targets almost down 4get it n build emnity on another. if 1 starts running of use provoke shield lob n combo thn keep rotating.
phew lol.. n thats my guide 2 emnity controll the rest is up 2 u n practicing every1s strat n getting that expirience. Also i left out COS n SW but those r things u should use anytime their rdy their great fillers n the sooner u use the sooner they'll cooldown n u can use em again lol GL![]()

1. Get a decent weapon. Str/Det/Crit help too, but not enough to be worthwhile usually. I've successfully tanked with ilvl 55 GC weapon vs. DPS in party with ilvl 90 weapons. But that's difficult.
2. Balance single target agro with AoE agro. FB/SB/RoH is your best single target. Flash/CoS for AoE.
I see a lot of variations in exact application, and it may vary by group. If your group wants to DoT all the mobs or cast AoE dmg, then you should be all Flash/CoS until way ahead on agro. (After that it doesn't matter, so might as well do a tiny bit of actual damage)
Personally, my typical sequence goes like this (weave in off-GCD abilities as you like, not listing here. Spirits Within builds some hate):
- Shield Lob
- Flash
- Circle of Scorn
- Flash
- Fast Blade main target
- Savage Blade main target
- Rage of Halone main target
You might notice above that someone put 3 Flashes in -- this could be fine, but if single target DPS is good you need to combo as fast as possible. On the other hand, 1 Flash is NOT enough. Ran a dungeon recently with a tank that wanted to do that -- healer was consistently taking hits from 2nd/3rd before 1st mob half dead. Yeah, don't be that tank.
TL;DR: If healer getting hit, Flash more. If single target DPS taking agro, switch from Flash to enmity combo faster.
Depending on the range I'm trying to pull from
Tomahawk (Provoke if out of range, than Tomahawk as the pack approaches) (mark 1 if you have to)
Flash
Butchers Block Combo
Flash
Butchers Block Combo (cycle through adds, and hit one of them with a +enmity attack if you are not at least half a bar above the next person down)
Butchers Block Combo (cycle through adds, and hit one of them with a +enmity attack if you are not at least half a bar above the next person down)
Butchers Block Combo (mark target 2)
no it isn't the highest DPS option for warrior, although it does allow you to set solid hate for the first, and second targets.
What I like to do is, first of all mark mobs if your not.
This is what I do;
1. Shield lob 1
2. Circle of Scorn
3. Flash
4. Start combo on 1
5. After Rage of Halone flash again
6. Combo to flash again
After this I tab through targets checking which mob I'm about to lose to aoe'er (like smn, brd, etc) and just throw a random combo on them.
