what's up with this increasing lag/disconnect?

Same, seems to mostly just be dungeons where I get the worst of it. Though I have gotten random DCs just wandering about. Even get DCed before I can even re-log back into the game. I'm hoping there's some change after the hotfix. It's mostly playable during the early part of the day but at night it's really not. And I can't DPS properly if I have no clue what's going on for a full six plus seconds. Certainly not my connection. But given my observations it's due to server. Want to play but can't.

I was playing last night around 9pm EST... the lag spike / disconnect was ridiculous so I logged out figuring I will just play in the morning.

Logged in this morning, still having massive lag spike / disconnect..

don't even know how to play this game anymore without feeling frustrated over such basic issue.

in NJ with comcast 25/5 internet.

I used to have really bad lag and disconnect but, I bought a ethernet cable and am currently running it from my PS3 to my router, and I haven't lagged once and haven't been disconnected once. Not saying this will for sure fix it, but if there is a direct connection it should help a little.

I'm also having very bad lag today. I just decided to give up playing today because it was so bad. I don't mean to be negative but, isn't this why we pay a monthly sub? This is exactly the reason i gave up on free to play MMO's, because of servers like this. And now i find myself paying a monthly sub for the same poor quality? I expected so much better from SE, all their games have been known for quality. Even if you didn't like some of their other titles, they were not known for such poor quality. Well i'm subbed for 90 days, so i can't very well vote with my wallet. But i'll consider this when my sub is up in January.

Been having this problem on and off for a while. A friend of mine lives down the street and I am usually skyping with them. They never report lag the same time I do, so it's not our ISP. It's SE. It happens sometimes during primetime and sometimes at 10:00AM on a Tuesday.

Never assume it is not your ISP just because your friend lives down the street and his connection is doing fine. The hardware/system setup between ISP and your friend's house is not the same one used between you and your ISP. You may even be connected to a different gateway.

Question: do any of you use ping improvement programs? Such as Smoothping, cFoSspeed or others like it?
If you do, disable that program and see if theres an improvement in things.
As a reference, i play from Australia and my ping has been rock solid since beta. Discounting of course the 300ms delay on positional checks.

Nope, I get about 73-75ms. So I know it's not latency.

EDIT: Just hoping it gets better with the update spreading the tomes around and people transferring to other servers is greater then people transferring to the server I'm on.
