I don't see a single person condoning MPK here I also don't see how SOCIALIZING in their own language is a problem it's not a matter of dungeon strategy it's simply chatting.This. If you queued up under ENGLISH and then get offended when people ask you to actually speak English then there's only one person to blame. (Hint, it's not the OP)
But ok, people defending whatever douchebag behaviour people are showing in this game is nothing new on the forums unfortunately.
Half the people in this thread are putting the blame on the OP for this. That's as close as condoning the other guys behaviour as you can get.
A rather prominent display of ignorance, the primary language for most people is most certainly not English. Approximately 30% of the world population can speak English, but only 5~7% are native English speakers.
I don’t know about you, but the last time I checked, 30% is not a “majority”, and 5-7% is not “most”, unless it’s followed by a “don’t”
Not really, I find your attitude and presumptions insulting enough here.As ive said, it isnt a matter of whether their chosen language was ''hurting'' the dungeon, but how the request to speak english TO the group, was taken as insulting.
And that’s relevant how?And as for ''if they were speaking to you, they would speak in the recipients own langauge'' is complete rubbish. I could not even tell you how often ive been spoken to directly in a language i didnt understand. All the while unable to tell them in THEIR language i cannot understand them.
About as silly as your belief that you have the right to dictate to other people what language they should speak in.
As others have said, there is no NA-only server, only NA/EU, which in case you don’t know, encompasses far more than just English speaking nations. Not that the location of the data center matters, there are still many JP players on now NA/EU legacy servers, they certainly aren’t required to speak English no matter what you think.
Anyway, I have expressed my dismay at some people's attitude in the Duty Finder, so i must go to bed.
I hope that some of that dismay is directed at your own attitude.
One DB behavior does not excuse nor justify another.
Says the one defending a DB behavior![]()
No one is defending an intentional wipe. It seems that there was no reason to even ask the person to speak English, as it can be assumed, based on previous posts, that the dungeon was going fine up until that point. I always use the auto-translate until it is known that others who I am speaking directly to also speak good English. There appears to be no reason for asking them to "English plz" other than to cause an issue.This. If you queued up under ENGLISH and then get offended when people ask you to actually speak English then there's only one person to blame. (Hint, it's not the OP)

[I don't understand] [I'm sorry]
Welterusten.
Felis catus
And like the duty finder, there are language options for the forums. English, please.![]()
Fun fact. English is not the most spoken language in the world. It's the second most spoken language in the world. Mandarin is actually the most spoken language.
OP didn’t so much “ask” as “dictate”. Moreover, people are not obligated to talk to you in any language regardless whether it’s DF or not. And when the conversation is social in nature, the OP has no right to inject himself into a conversation he is not a part of. How do you think you'd look if you walk up to a couple strangers in a store talking to each other in a foreign language and tell them "english pls"?
Pssh, what are you doing here with facts? Those are not welcome here!!!!
This is NOT a random store where you walk in, this is when you're working on some project and suddenly two people in your group start talking in some language nobody understands while you're trying to finish your project. I don't know, but I'm pretty damn sure most people wouldn't appreciate that.OP didn’t so much “ask” as “dictate”. Also if "english pls" is already dictating how people are supposed to play holy crap what is this community coming too. Soon you'll need to write a 10 page essay in the most polite writing possible to check whether it's ok to even ask something.
