Look at all the fanboi's on the forum. If you have a valid complaint then its "LEAVE THEN NOONE LIKES YOU, WE DONT NEED YOU HATE HATE HATE". Its then exasperated by the casuals "DONT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB!!!! IM THE BEST EVER! *MEDICA MEDICA MEDICA*" People get on these forums and read all these posts about how everyone is so mean and wont help them, so they get an attitude in game about it and expect everyone to be mean to them.

A lot of people blame this on WOW but this is stuff that I have seen before WOW. This was super prevalent in FFXI.

Go look at the forum right now, the first 10 posts of any complaint thread is nothing but trolling. Someone is already disatisfied but not enough to quit, what do you think is going to happen when he is antagonized. Let him let off his steam, trolling someone is going to make him go into the game and troll you there, then you can come back to the forums and complain about how mean people are.

It could just be me but I've always had the impression that the community improves drastically by the 1-year mark. It's always just the first few months where everyone seems crazy.

After the 1-year mark, they all seem to travel back to a norm (Even WoW until they release an expansion).

Yep, the issues with our community right now are attributable to game hoppers. They're only here until the "next big thing" happens, and they are ridiculously selfish. They want everything done as quickly as possible so by the time the "next big thing" is released they can say they "beat" this game and leave. Then two years from now when they read about the first expansion being released they'll say "people still play that game? lolololol"

The reason 11 had a better community was because the game didn't spoil people.

You had to work your ass to get anything, from levels all the way to inventory space.

This game is not completely giving, since end game is challenging at the very least, but things like travel have been spoiled. I can get anywhere with a teleport, and airships are now irrelevant.

Do you remember how it felt getting an airship pass in 11? Compared to this game it feels like a joke, I used the airship a few times in main story, now it's like LoL.

Spoiled game=Bad community (WoW is the example)

None spoiled game=Great community (Like 11)

Somewhat spoiled game=Half and half.

Now and then I run into nice people, other times immature brats. It's how it is these days.

Personally I blame meme culture for a general rise in internet stupidity.
At first it was localized to a few boards like 4chan but soon spread to forums and now even in our mmo's we have idiots shouting yolo before ninja pulling then saying lol u mad

If someone would finally develop the technology that allows you to reach through your screen and bitchslap the person on the other end, a lot of these problems would go away. Violence is not the best solution. But it IS a solution.

If you really intrested in nice ppl only LS. Can forget it. Everywhere you will get the random lamer.

But you stand a higher chance if that FC is focus on casual or social gaming. I pretty sure there are a few everywhere.

Not true. Shinies! LS on Midgardsormr is full of nice folks. We pride ourselves on it. We have even been tossing around the idea of weekly cutscene runs of CM and Prae, for new folks on the server that want to run through it how it is meant to be run.
