    Cross skills for Future Jobs

So what kind of cross-skills you would assume will go with future Jobs?

I can guess the cross skills for...

Dark Knight - Lancer and Marauder cross-skills (both have blood skills such as Bloodbath and Blood for Blood which Dark Knight has known to focus on scrificing HP for DD rate.)

Ranger - Musketeer and Lancer cross-skills

Red Mage - Conjurer and Thaumaturge cross-skills

I personally can't wait until they realize that classes are pointless and abolish them entirely. I mean who even uses them past their first job crystal in the first place anyways?

try not to think classes as some kind of under class.

The class and Job is more like class progression system.

Classes serve as the base for how your character progress. Cross-skills is more used to provide some alternatives to the class. If you need more DD, Tank, or buffs then you can go to corss-skills to obtain a bit more as a way to help imporve the character's role use or suvivablilty.

Jobs focus more one altering your base progressing into different roles.

Arcanist, for example, focus on multitasking with Summon 1 being range DD and Summon 2 being tank and provides some heal to help manage the summons but once you enter 30 and choose your Job you are given a choice into what progress you want to enter. You can enter Summoner to advance more into the multitasking ability with more summons or enter Scholar to changing your role and pet into healing by advancing Arcanist's healing skills. Jobs also provide more stats, like any Job advance system, that helps support the character's stats into their chosen role path.

Not to mention Arcanist's Jobs have shown Jobs can alter the base class skills such as how Scholar and Summoner alter Arcanist summon skills to provide different summons separate from Arcanist summons.

Problem with class right now is there's no content for it. Questing and anything beyond 30 could be done as a job.. even solo. For parties job is the obvious choice. Not to mention end game gear is Job only, makes sense cause end game content is for parties only, but still. This undermines class a lot. If they don't do something (solo/duo content, more cross skill, etc.) for class I'm afraid eventually it might as well be phased out.

When they pitched it: class is more for solo/low party where each person can be more versatile in a situation vs job are more for big party where each person excel at a certain role it sounds great. I am pretty disappointed at how that turned out though, there's no situation when class > job and it becomes more and more true for the higher levels. I'd love to play my pugilist, having access to protect, cure, and other skills, but right now there's literally no incentive/content to play the class over job ;/

I believe the intended design was for class to essentially be a more generalized setup for solo-play whereas the jobs are there for party play or where you are meant to fill a particular role within a party or story segment. The tradeoff between job and class is power verses utility.

Trying to base anything beyond that just on what is presented is probably speaking too soon since the vast majority of what we currently have with the job system is little more than a carryover from Version 1.0. Over time things will probably fill out a bit better.

Possibly, though I'm thinking Marauder and Thaumaturge

I would have set it as Thaumaturge but issue with Thaumaturge cross-skills is that they require INT stats and Melee classes focus on using STR and VIT stats. Cross-skills from Thaumaturge will mostly be useless to DRK due to how Melee classes stat progress doesn't have a decent enough INT stats to make the skills effective enough.
